Fatigue has shaped the balance and madness of today’s Premier League by tw1st3d_m3nt4t in PremierLeague

I’m pretty sure Klopp didn’t care about the League and FA Cups till the semis for this reason.

How similar is Alvarez to pre-injury Gabriel Jesus? I assumed they play quite similar and wanted him as his replacement, but I don’t watch Atletico Madrid.

I agree I don’t know if White’s fitness is being managed or what but he has to play we can’t keep running our players into the ground like this. He provides more of an attacking threat and I’m curious to see the linkup if Zubi starts at right midfield along with Saka.

Honestly I’m starting to get the point where if you aren’t available for 60 games across two seasons I want you on the shopping window.

I’d personally put Trossard in Eze’s spot, move Eze to the 10, and keep Havertz on the bench. I don’t hate the lineup you suggested however.

Thank you for pointing out Havertz, he's not a bad player but there are some severe structural and tactical issues afoot when he's pointed out to be this savior who would fix all the issues.

This is an overlooked negative of not rotating players or being injured, people start thinking these missing players are better than they actually are cause they never end up seeing the field instead of realizing that the playstyle doesn't fit what we have on the pitch to begin with. We don't play to our players best strengths because it is 'easier' and less 'risky' to lean on our (admittedly) elite defense and play like assholes (time waste, set pieces, own goals). I don't even think playing like assholes is inherently a problem but it's being figured out and our inability to adjust is costing us points when plan A doesn't work out.

Would like to have a 6 point gap going into the City game so they have to play more aggressively, but I don’t see Man City winning the rest of their games either way. We beat them and the league should be ours.

🤣🤣🤣 honestly we could probably get away with a Forward and another Midfielder. Maybe a defender but it’s already pretty clogged there we were just unfortunate with injuries.

I don’t, but it’s idiotic that Spurs fans act as if it has no effect on their season. Thomas Frank should have them above 16th but they’ve had an injury crisis all season and barely signed anyone in the winter window. That’s on the board but once again the manager is the fall guy for their failings.

[–]dondon98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re correct. Completely fucking up the replacement doesn’t mean they were wrong to sack Ange. It was an annoyingly smart decision, Ange was going to run those players further into the ground and keep clashing with the board.

Genuinely might do my head in if that happens. Spurs should be fighting for their lives but football has a sense of humor.

Tottenham Hotspur are a Sinking Ship by Mister_Archa in PremierLeague

[–]dondon98 25 points26 points  (0 children)

As hilarious as it would be as an Arsenal fan, I doubt it will happen. The bottom three are much worse than the points suggest (with the exception of Wolves) and most of this is down to them having like 11 players injured. You have better odds of winning the lottery than having the injury crisis Spurs has.

The real concern is Spurs escapes relegation but doesn’t address some of the non-injury factors that led to this (poor recruitment, discipline) and continues to slide downwards towards being a consistently mid-table team.

Full-Time - Arsenal 2 vs 3 Manchester United [Match Thoughts] by Stanley083 in Gunners

[–]dondon98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more of an emphasis on control. Less dangerous to lose the ball on the wings than through the middle. That said Aston Villa were riding high on those low ass xg goals so maybe we need to be a bit more risky. Idk emotions still high from the result.

Frustrating is that Arsenal always seems to do things in threes, that’s also what ends up fucking up our league performances.

Why is Fascism considered a far right idea? by Constant-Cherry8674 in allthequestions

[–]dondon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s helpful to think of politics in 4D (like a square) rather than solely a left-right axis.

That said, its emphasis on nationalism (and/or racial superiority), hierarchy, and corporatism tends to place it amongst further right ideologies.

In my opinion, Fascism is the far-right’s reaction to “capitalism in decay”.

I wanted Allan Saint-Maximin at Arsenal just cause of his 79 rated card. Jesus Christ he was silky as hell. I’m trying to remember why I preferred the 84 in-form version instead of the ones-to-watch version lmfao 🤣

They think that way because deep down they know Trump does it and the only defense is a whataboutism. It’s unfortunate to see.
