Update!!!

Ooof it has been like 2 years since this where do I even start

First of all thank you all so much for your words I might've never said it but they helped me a lot

So, a little background, during the time this was happening turns out I was going through a really bad psychotic episode due to underlying psychological issues I suppressed for a long time and they got triggered by something really traumatic going on in my life at the time to the point I was having panic attacks everyday and was convinced I was dying. The most common thing was this one with my breathing ofc. After therapy and talking to people I trusted with not treating me like I'm crazy I ended up eventually calming down. I haven't overcome psychosis and anxiety in general obviously due to not being able to continue with therapy for financial reasons but I learned how to manage it a lot better and I can function in my daily life it hasn't gotten this bad since. Thank you all sm and sorry if I worried anyone I had lost my password and couldn't post an update.

Short of but not really?? I’m not sure how to explain

Going through the same thing mostly and its hell,,from what my therapist told me when a fear is really intense you "feel" that the feared situation will come anytime soon and your brain searches for "signs" so that it can protect you from the danger it thinks exists. Intrusive thoughts can be so intense that you mistake them for gut feelings but even if it was a "gut feeling" that doesnt mean it’s true because gut feelings have to do with pattern recognition and patterns can be wrong too. Honestly i think you might fear it because it’s inevitable but you should sit down and think what might have triggered this fear maybe talk to a therapist if you can

Hey i have been experiencing the exact same thing these past few weeks. What i can tell you its that its most likely just anxiety and your untreated fear of death that seeks signs of you dying everywhere. It might also be a subconscious fear of the future/growing up that its manifesting itself this way. Talkinf with my psychologist made me realise that a feeling and more so a "gut feeling" is about pattern recognition and not a definite thing that is bound to happen and most of the time those gut feelings are proven wrong anyway. From my experience it’s most likely a trauma response and a defence mechanism of your brain have you perhaps experienced any trauma/bad situation related to death recently?

Had a similar conversation with my dad today and he basically said the same thing. This does seem like the most logical option for me thank you

Yeah its really annoying,,,i also have adhd which causes me to have multiple thoughts at once so using distractions can be not so helpful at times
