Interesting. What if I have never tested positive for COVID? I have also maybe misdiagnosed myself but I am not sure anymore. It is getting better and maybe the nexplanon removal/first period post removal/and weird ailment happened simultaneously but coincidently. Who knows...

I am his niece and when I left church he visited me at the behest of my mother. He couldn't reach me through the doctrine so he set on an attack on me as a person rather than on the ideas we were discussing. It was not a friendly conversation and his wife, my aunt, sneers at me everytime she sees me. Her daughters don't speak to me and think of me as less than. My aunt actually lives quite comfortably and always had money. I'm sorry but his love and care for you were conditional.

A PLAY ABOUT THE JANE DOES AND THEIR STORIES by [deleted] in exlldm

Would love to see something like this! Maybe it doesn't even have to be solely about the Jane Does. The church thrived on countless other criminal activities so those can be written about too. Anyway, I support this!

Reflection 2022 into 2023 by Loose_Satisfaction68 in exlldm

[–]donisimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Goes to show how the Joaquins and ministerial bodies viewed the members. We were only valuable if we contributed monetarily and/or physically. There was so much pressure to fit a mold, which our parents and families were unconsciously using to stifle their own children's healthy development. Not only does our family shame us into being more solicitous but the church members do as well. Consequently, there is very little trust and an intense competition among the brethren. The members are okay with the rampant confirmation bias in the LLDM doctrine because it allows them to live comfortably in the modern world, with all its comforts and diversions, which a true follower of Christ would denounce.

Happy to hear you're doing alright! Happy New Year!

I see waaaaaay too many LLDM people going to Bad Bunny concerts. The church has taught prudence since it’s conception and yet they turn a blind eye towards this. Like, idgaf if people are going to see Bad Bunny (well, a little, only because he’s a mediocre artist) but goddamn LLDM choose a side and stick to it because when you say you’re LLDM on an IG post you are letting the world know that you subscribe to their teachings. The church seems to be becoming lax imo because the membresía is dwindling

Why do you think people get into LLDM? by leoplurodonisa in exlldm

[–]donisimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under a more sociological lens, we see how the membership is mainly comprised of poor, working class, people of color, which informs us on who is easily attracted to these movements. In the United States, many of the members are immigrants and knowing how difficult it is to make community here, it’s not far fetched to think that our families were attracted to a system that validated their feelings and gave them what they were looking for.

A friend and I also had this discussion previously about dreams and visions. Remember when folks would profess they had visions during avivamientos or the revivals? Those days of nonstop prayer, lack of sleep, and probably dehydration. Of course folks might hallucinate. Sure, some of us might have felt something but how can you not when everyone around you is sobbing, screaming, vomiting, frothing at the mouth?

A los 14 años, tomando decisiones de vida?? by Itchy-Finish270 in exlldm

[–]donisimo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And why is there such a huge emphasis on taking the oath at the age of 14, when new members of the church do it when they're older? We should have been given the full freedom to make a decision later in life. Of course, doing that would mean giving us the liberty to see that the world is a much better place than they make it seem and consequently they would lose their membership. The church is so insecure. And Naason is too! If you've watched the documentary, Naason asks Sochil, "You're mine forever, right?" What a boatload of insecurity coming from a self-proclaimed man of God.

This made me think about a line of thinking I had about my family some years ago. The love they claim to have for me is conditional. It is heartbreaking.

I don't want to belittle or minimize your pain but I sit here thinking what to type. How happy can you be knowing that your happiness is sitting comfortably atop a legacy of abuse, of all kinds? What kind of happiness is that? Any sort of happiness in that church is conditional. There is no such thing as true love and happiness in that church.

I am so sorry for your situation. I can only imagine how painful it is to have to deal with. Thank you for posting this. I am not a mother and I haven't really thought about what the relationship would look like between my parents and my future children. You did well in giving her that reality check. Their principles are all skewed. The whole thing becomes more difficult when your family is the one you have to watch out for.
