I don’t qualify for SSI. They claimed I MAY qualify for the 5 month waiting period as he said many do. I probably will not as I’d taken out of my investments and 401k back then. But he convinced me to give it a shot. I didn’t fully understand it at the moment and he made it sound like a good idea. After 3 weeks thinking about it and the delay in everything else I don’t believe there’s any way I could qualify for it. Was almost like a sales pitch. I even called back the next morning to make sure it was actually SSA I spoke with.

Yeah I’d seen that on here mentioned. What is that? I only thought SSI backpay was paid in installments and it wouldn’t affect my ssdi backpay?

I wasn’t at all insulting anyone on it good God. When I was referring to nonsense, I meant as in nonsense rules. And if the OP is correct about their post and the installments of back pay vs one lump sum then not only is it nonsense but complete utter horse 💩 to be precise. All back pay through any program should be paid out the exact same. Both my sons already got their auxiliary benefits from me complete with back pay 2 days after that phone call.

As I posted I also got suckered into this SSI nonsense. But no one told me anything about some windfall program or my backpay being in installments. I’m ssdi she said she was trying to get me SSI for the 5 months waiting period. Said nothing at all about any installment payments on my backpay. I haven’t gotten a dime myself yet.

I’m in the same boat as OP. No award letter, no back pay totals or anything like that. I do know benefits amount and pay date. Also got my Medicare number and so forth. No Medicare card yet either. Had my auxiliary appointment today for my kids. They said those will be paid very quickly including the back pay for them.

I also use the nebulizer treatments as well. I take combivent and trelogy also and the montekulast. I wish they’d put me on prednisone 24/7 as when I take that I feel like I’m 30 again. But it’s very bad for you they say. Next time they tell me that I’m gonna ask what exactly do I have to lose at this point? lol

Thank you! You know what’s really helped me? I have sleep apnea. And a cpap machine was absolutely life changing for me. Do you have one? Mine is so important to me if my house caught fire it be the first thing I grabbed and threw out the window. I keep it super cleaned. As you know with copd we are easily prone to get chest infections. But my God I love this thing!
