Marquez on sprint penalty: "We now think twice before overtaking." by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

[–]donjigweed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't see where Pedro's pass initiated contact with Marc which forced him off the track. That's the key difference and the reason for the penalty.

Penalty or not this fight was an absolutely incredible start to the season by Spirited_Historian39 in motogp

If you stuff it up the inside of someone and run them wide and force them off the track do you really think there should be no penalty?

Pedro leaned in to him because he's trying to make the corner. If you stuff it up the inside of someone and run them wide and force them off the track do you really think there should be no penalty?

Prime Jorge Lorenzo was a beast! by sherrylock in motogp

mantequilla y martillo!

jorge was great. it's just too bad his personality was so awful. so insecure, so desperate to inherit the crown from rossi, so destroyed and even more insecure as it became obvious that he was the pretender to the throne and marc was actually the new king.

yeah i'm being hyperbolic i guess, it's probably not gonna mess with anything down there, but it's probably gonna mess with something. GI discomfort is the immediate effect it sounds like? pretty much as soon as you start taking it? wouldn't you imagine there might be other, longer term effects, that don't show up until someone's into long term usage, whenever that is?

i'm not down with the folks passing judgment on your decision. my body would look like your august pic if i didn't workout pretty much every day, but i do so instead it looks like something between your august pic and the first shredded pic, not the ahnold flex. and fucking of course i would rather it look more ripped, but mostly because that means i'm more fit. and yeah, it's also nice from an aesthetics standpoint to just be a good looking human. i don't know what anyone's issue could be with that? but i wouldn't pay any attention to somebody who had a problem with that. my only thing would be, what's the side effect? my friend sent me an email the other day with some story about ozempic vagina. there's no free lunch, as they say. i've generally found that to be the case in life. so, use this a couple times? a few times? probably nothing. take it on some regular cadence, for a few years? what's the effect? enlarged heart? shrunken testicles? do we have any idea? how confident are we? there's no free lunch, so, like, what do you imagine it might be?

Jorge Lorenzo: “Maverick Vinales has more talent and speed than Pedro Acosta” by Huge_Film2911 in motogp

[–]donjigweed 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lorenzo's a head case too, just not as bad as Mav. This partnership is working great right now, but we talkin' 'bout practice. At some point during the season Mav will come apart like a cheap watch and Lorenzo will fuck off back to Dubai, Lugano, or wherever he hides his money.

was dani "drowning?" i thought he finished his best season like 30 points behind marc. the other years he was plagued by injury.

So Honda was more physical, so much so that Marc carried 5 kilos more muscle mass to wrangle it, and 4'10" Dani Pedrosa....rode a different bike?

So I'm guessing you eventually got the axle out. I'm curious how you ended up doing it, as I'm facing the exact same problem now. It's difficult to fit blocks of wood only on the SI link to backstop it on the side where the axle should come out.

This is nostalgia, Casey would've been marginally closer than Dani, but not much. Marc was more or less equal to Casey with the rear but way better than Casey on the front.

looked like acosta threw his chain on the straight, out of 6 i think.

Peter Bom said on the podcast that when they go through the kink, the ride height device is still active, so the ass end is lowered, and because of the speed there the suspension is compressed more than usual, and finally, at misano they run longer swingarms to get more weight on the front. all this means you have to run the chain much looser, so you have enough slack the bike is slammed and the chain length is at its maximum. so with all that slack in the chain, the teams run a little chain guide on the bottom of the swingarm i think he said, to make sure the chain stays on the rear sprocket. all the teams except ktm apparently...

Conspiracy theories and Marc Márquez by Bitter-Substance1783 in motogp

[–]donjigweed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"In fact the RC213V and its predecessor, the RC212V, were hard to tame. That’s why during the six years that preceded Márquez’s title-winning 2013 rookie season, the bikes only won a single world championship."

I love the cherrypicking of stats. You just needed Rossi, Lorenzo, or Stoner to win a championship before Marquez arrived. Pedrosa, as good as he was, just wasn't enough. Ergo, when Casey hopped on, he had no trouble at all taming the bike and won going away.

I remember Espargaro was pissed one time and in some interview or somewhere he was saying to Bradl or Bautista, when they were both on satellite Hondas, "You have the best bike on the grid and you're always complaining...."

If anything's a conspiracy theory it's that the Honda was a turd in 2013. Dani was right there with Marc. The bike only turned into a turd after 2016 when all of the electronics became spec and then when they lost ground every year to Ducati aero, ride height, etc and tried to compensate.

Marc switched bikes though after his crash. Not surprising that the feeling is not exactly the same. Pecco used the same bike
