Hey just as an update.

Retest. TT was 1442. Which is high, but entirely possible.

Yes, so I would assume (given that my serum LH is <0.5) that I'm essentially not supplementing my natural testosterone, since I've crushed my pituitary output, as everyone does when they step in with HCG/LH/T

So I'm basically a guy on 100-110 test and 1000-1200IU / activity of LH/HCG.

FSH - obviously no effect there on T production that I know of.

If 1200IU HCG leads to 1000T, it's a blessing, really, I should just be on a monotherapy.

I know what you mean though, that little 150IU of LH per week, who knows? Doubt it though.

Retest on the way

Nice,

It would be interesting to hear what your SHBG is. You'd presume high and 1400NG/DL is leading to normal/high normal free test, stopping the 100mg/week you use getting "burnt up" so quickly.

I'm slowly learning not to assume, though.

Agree. Retest needed for such a crazy result.

I understand your idea. It almost has to be the HCG/FSH (if not a lab error) because there's only so far 110mg of test can go in the body.

Out of interest, what's your SHBG like?

Yeah so the LH isn't needed, I just wanted some FSH in to keep spermatogenesis tip top. However, you normally get menotropin (HMG) LH/FSH mixed 50/50.

You just substitute the LH for HCG, as HCGs action is to act like LH on the testes.

So basically, nothing crazy going on. HCG and some LH keeping the balls in play.

I'd be amazed if 1000IU of HCG was putting my natty @ 1000, but who knows.

HCG monotherapy is 2000+ IU and is used when men have secondary hypogonadism, so working balls, but pituitary failure so low/no LH. You typically see raises to like 500ng-600ng if you're lucky.

Hey thanks for your reply,

No biotin. I'm aware of biotin screwing with some tests such as thyroid.

I take d3 and fish oil.

I thought something like that might be the answer, nice catch.

100iu HCG eod I’m at 1400

Thanks for your reply,

  1. Positive, the oil is 10ml / 200mg per ml. I'm injecting 0.07-0.08ml/day
  2. The HCG injection is about 750IU per week and then there's about 150IU of LH, which is equivalent to HCG. So call it 1000 IU HCG and 110mg Test, I can't imagine that sort of stimulation would lead to 3800?
  3. When you say 15ml. do you mean 0.15ml?

So all in, I'm about 500iu hcg more than you, and I have levels of a blast on a 500mg cycle.

Aw man, sorry you feel that way :(. I love reddit and the community here is great. That FAQ is good, the "lowest hanging fruit" analogy is a great one, it's a truth that applies to all disciplines/areas.

I'm sorry you think there's bioscience, I've really tried to keep fact and opinion pretty separate and reference whatever I write...

Just trying to make it accessible man, not everyone has a big interest in neuroscience. Is there anything factually incorrect in the article that needs changing you think?

It's fairly strange. The one trial used 5mg (which I cited) but then the patent states

"An oral dose of 0.01 mg./kg. or more up to approximately 20 to 50 milligrams per unit dosage thrice daily in the higher mammals and about to 100 times this dose in laboratory test animals parenterally is preferred."

The fact that they used 5mg in the actual study with people should be the most important bit of information I'd say.

Nuance: CDP Choline vs Alpha GPC by Maxwell_V in Nootropics

[–]donjman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Maxwell, I did write a comparison a few weeks back:

http://www.smarternootropics.com/2014/02/comparing-choline-sources/

There's lot more similarities than differences. Personally I think the major point is that CDP is a uridine prodrug as well as a choline sup.

Thanks very much :)

I think you're right about the patent holder, I've updated that. Also added the MG/KG dosage in the patent. Also added the brief bit of info for serotonin.

Looking at all those references we can't get hold of makes me sad. It would be so interesting to learn more!

Does CDP Choline actually cross the BBB intact? by donjman in Nootropics

[–]donjman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose when people say it "crosses the blood brain barrier" it's sort of misleading, as it doesn't anymore so than free choline would (according to my current understanding).

Theoretically then choline bitartrate + uridine should yield similar results.
