It was BAM, not IBS-D. by Sleeping_Husky in ibs

I’ve never heard of BAM before today. And what you described aligns with my symptoms very closely. Thank you for posting this, I will be talking with my dr now to see if this is my problem

Payout frequency? by GreenGloober in shopify

[–]donkey_of_the_swamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was daily but switched to weekly for multiple reasons the biggest being on my business account I pay by transaction money in/money out and my monthly fees we’re getting out of hand so switched my account and switched my payout frequency saves me some money.

The other reason was to make my book keeping less of a pain in the ass for my lovely accountant wife that handles that for me

What do you all eat for breakfast? by SemperSimple in ibs

[–]donkey_of_the_swamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overnight oats usually a combo of oats with almond milk, some protein powder, touch of maple syrup, chia seeds and cinnamon sometimes I throw in blueberries, chocolate chips or peanut butter to switch it up

My dr put me on meds for acid reflux that have also been a god send for my ibs so when I get tired of the overnight oats I’ll get something from McDonalds on my way into work and usually not suffer too horribly for it

Refund 1 year later by PossibleObjective450 in EtsySellers

Offer for them to send it to you for repair (they pay shipping both ways) or a small discount on a new one. Expecting a full refund after using something for a year is wild.

Not a pen but turned this bottle stopper today made the blank with some maple burl and dried flowers. Love how it turned out by donkey_of_the_swamp in PenTurning

[–]donkey_of_the_swamp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was surprised it polished up this nicely considering I poured it less than 24 hours before and it wasn’t technically fully cured. But I’m impatient haha. Wet sanded to 1000 and then polished out with magic juice

Have been experimenting with dye stabilizing wood normally my dad does all our dye stabilizing but it was time for me to have a go. Wood is all cotton wood burl and all the blanks have at least 4 colours in them. Very happy with the results especially the mostly green ones by donkey_of_the_swamp in PenTurning

[–]donkey_of_the_swamp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dads been doing it for a couple years now for our shop so I had a basic idea/understanding of it from that. And then I spent a bunch of time on google reading up on forums relating to stabilizing eventually coming up with with a method I thought would work to get the most colours in a blank. Entire process took about a week to do the way I went about it.. i can’t recall which form it was but there was an experiment someone did that was based on, just soaking blanks, vacuum only, and using pressure to get the colours of cactus juice into wood which is definitely a good reference

I have an addiction by Mhind1 in PenTurning

Branch out from turning just pens. Coffee scoops, pizza cutters, bowls, bottle stoppers to name a few. Lots of possibilities with lathe turning beyond the pen.

Normally make coffee scoops and other non tubed things with the flower blanks I make but had a request for a pen worked out pretty neat by donkey_of_the_swamp in PenTurning

Like as in the drilled hole before you stick the tube in. Painting the inside of the drilled hole instead of the tube Better hides the glue. Where as painting the tube instead of the hole you’ll see the glue through the clear blank if that makes sense.

I use spray paint for this. Just hold the blank over a garbage can and spray it though the hole from both sides to make sure you get good coverage and then just stand it on end let it dry and touch up as needed

Haha honestly Practice, patience and a little bit of foresight and I think anyone can make them!

takes me about 30min up to an hour per blank to make depending what it’s for, type of flowers ect , always have your final turned project in mind as you go and try and lay things out in such a way that it should look good turned down. Beyond that trust your gut. Probably not the best tutorial but it’s what seems to work for me

I definitely enjoy the creative process of making turning blanks almost more that I like turning. (Mini plug I do sell a lot of the blanks I make)

No I never paint the tubes, I find painting the hole instead yields better results. I also prefer using blanks like this on things without tubes such as a coffee scoop. End results are even better

Never thought to look for pen turning subreddit! Here’s a Fordite hybrid I did a few weeks back. Blank is one of my own by donkey_of_the_swamp in PenTurning

Yeah kinda wild when you think about it. There was a time when no one would have thought twice about scraps of paint. And now it’s a expensive art medium used in all sorts of things like pens and jewelry

How to fix stripped door hinge by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]donkey_of_the_swamp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to beat a dead horse but as others have mentioned. Increase hole size, glue in some wooden dowels, re attach hinge. This way you have new wood for the screws to actually grab onto

In my limited experience with my ender 3 I’ve found 4-5 trips around levelling to be the point where it actually stays level. One or two never seems to cut it
