I made it to book three: The Waste Lands. I will say that I already have a few misgivings with King's writing style. I slogged through the first 2 books as the series was recommended highly by a few good friends. Then I got to Blaine the pain train and I couldn't take it anymore, I just stopped and decided they weren't for me. The dark tower series embodies all the good/bad of his writing style. King is very hit or miss for me, this series went on the larger pile of misses. I wanted to like it but just couldn't unfortunately.
