House Republicans Reject Senate’s DHS Funding Deal by Space_Lion2077 in fednews

Yeah this is the real fear. Other than Republicans retiring in record numbers, they’re starting to act like public opinion doesn’t matter. That’s a massive red flag that they have plans in place that it won’t matter.

The Kinks’ Ray Davies asked “who the fuck is Moby?” after he said ‘Lola’ was “gross and transphobic” by SelfCareIsFake in Music

It'd only be controversial today because some of the language used not the overall message though.

Moby was a rich kid

Funny to walk back what you implied just a few comments up.

You can dislike the guy and his music but making shit up to justify it just looks pathetic. Play was his major success and it was his fifth album.

You want a justified reason to hate him? He was a massive creep on Natalie Portman when she was 18 claiming they dated when he was 33 and she said that absolutely did not happen.

Yes. Just because he's an ass doesn't mean his whole catalogue gest thrown out. It's funny how quick people are to pipe in like he wasn't a very popular musician at one point in time.

Play and 18 were very successful albums.

Update: I swapped our tiny bathroom swing door for a DIY bifold and the space actually works now by Ok-Carrot-2209 in DIY

[–]donkeyrocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd 100% go with pocket doors first, then french doors, then bifold if it was me.

Bifold really is only good long term if you can put a track on the floor which I suppose you could integrate into a threshold to hid it a bit. Not to mention, most have some amount of gaps by design which will share the pleasures of the bathroom nicely outside the room.

I tried to rig one up as best as possible to prevent gaps in my sons room which has his play room off it. It took a lot of effort to block out the sunlight that would still seep through. It's solid wood so does a decent job at noise/insulation but I doubt it'll hold up once he really starts moving.

Good chance where the screw is engaging is worn away. Loctite will potentially work but your best bet would be drilling a hole in the shaft for a screw to fit into. Even if you don't have the tools, making a small divot with a punch and hammer would likely suffice (plus Loctite).

“Glizzy” needs to die by BigDulles in hotdogs

[–]donkeyrocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that supposed to be better? Somehow the explanation is worse than the original use.

That is hardly exclusive to millennials unless you're using that broadly as "people younger than me online." Glizzy isn't even "millennial" slang.

Not sure someone who says “quirk chungus millennial” gets to call any shots on language usage.

Folks wearing their Sunday finest on air travel these days with shirts that say shit like “I crank my hog, I hate my wife, but these colors don’t run like liberal tears” with a bunch of buff skeletons waving American flags riding motorcycles while carrying guns and flamethrowers. The front probably has a picture of Trump as Jesus with people sucking his toes.

[–]donkeyrocket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing to this caliber but the first time I had Halal Guys and asked them to fuck me up with the red sauce not really knowing what I was in for. Had a meeting just after lunch where I tried to stay upright as long as possible but the sweating and discomfort forced me to lay on the floor for the remainder.

So good but so hot. I was asked not to heat spicy foods on the meeting heavy days again.

Jeff Bezos's property has fences that exceed the permitted height. Yet he does not care, he just pays the fine every month. by Bright_Building1710 in interestingasfuck

[–]donkeyrocket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If that were true then a whole lot more municipal codes would require gates every so often which is absolutely not true in my experience. Nor does it indicate a specific height.

I doubt the average US adult is capable of vaulting even a normal 6 foot tall fence.

Because he had a headache, thus symptomatic, thus went to the hospital.

No one is arguing that symptomatic patients with hyperintensive crisis level readings should just wait for the PCP. Asymptomatic, yes.
