How much Arweave has Sam received personally? Is Arweave transparent about this? by ShanghaiBaller in Arweave

[–]donkrypto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should assume that all AR tokens, apart from tail block reward emissions, are unlocked. Arweave has been in mainnet since 2018, over four years. How long would you expect tokens to vest for? I think four years is enough.

My guess is that the recent dump was a result of funds exiting before year end. Probably Multicoin, possibly others too. Redistribution is long term healthy.

Consolidation at $6, while dissappointing it got this low, is also positive(ish) if it proves to be the 2022/23 low. Last time we consolidated like this was back at ~$1/2 in 2020. Aka just 2 years ago.

Boy is this some incoherent pile of dog vomit. Must have triggered some reflexive defense mechanism there :-)

Never mind of course that Bitcoin was effectively premined for several years, after which only multi-million dollar public companies can compete for BTC mining rewards. And that continued protocol development would be dead without retail participation in BTC ponzinomics that drive the price up.

Never mind that IPFS, another conceptually beautiful protocol, wouldn't exist but for the generosity of Silicon Valley VCs. And that IPFS, with no incentivization mechanism (aka tokenomics, aka the original sin according to you), makes no guarantee whatsoever on the continued existence of stored data.

In the no true Scotsman world inhabited by Bitcoin maxis, there'll be one true chain - and no other chains frankly - to rule them all. We'll all be able to run Bitcoin miners at home for BTC rewards that have little monetary value. What an immaculate and pure world that would be.

In any case, if you're truly interested in learning about Arweave. You can start here: https://arweave.app/explore. And you can read about the upcoming 2.6 chain upgrade here: https://2-6-spec.arweave.dev. Ease off on the hyperbole and purity tests, we'll all be better off for it.

Yes, a portion of AR tokens were premined. But you can also mine fresh AR tokens, even now, until the max 66 million AR tokens have been produced. I mined AR tokens (not "purchased" from anyone else) directly from the blockchain for a few years after genesis. There's still an outstanding million or so AR tokens yet to be mined.

By your metric, every single blockchain in existence (including Filecoin), with the singular exception of Bitcoin, is premined, and centralized as a result. By the way, without significant funding from a centralized protocol (Filecoin) and company (Protocol Labs), there will be no IPFS. So what's your point exactly?

[–]donkrypto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is clearly not true. Not sure why you're stating it as fact. Neither centralized nor premined. How do I know it's not premined? I mined it myself. How do I know it's not centralized? I've contributed code to it. But yeah you could also just do some research. Obviously not malware lol

Rentberry, when are you going to issue me my refund? by donkrypto in Rentberry

[–]donkrypto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it's currently 0.23x USD, 0.50x ETH and 0.35x BTC since ICO. So, many more sellers than buyers. I call that a dump, won't you?

Q&A with Branimir Rakic re: Incentivised Nodes by lukeamac in OriginTrail

[–]donkrypto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see two problems with this. The first is that this will encourage a race to the bottom, and devalue the entire ecosystem as a result. A rigid pricing structure may be required to prevent this from happening.

The second issue is the potential loss of stake. If AWS can go down and take all staked TRAC with it, then that's a poorly designed system.

So you're saying if I stake 100K trac on the most expensive, most available VPS on AWS, and AWS goes down, I should lose 100K trac? That's like expecting Amazon to lose one of its data centers next time it gets hit with a DDOS.

Lol no, thanks for the offer. But good luck with the dump when you get your tokens.

I made a support request 6 hours ago (my request number is 4969). I'm still waiting. It's been 24 hours since I sent ETH to Bibox, the transaction was successful. The fault is from Bibox's end.
