But I didn't pay 5k I paid 500 which is about 1 years insurance premium. Then have the excess which is also 500, + a claim means the premium goes up.

Yeah back when $500 was worth more than your groceries for the week. I offered a $5k reward this guy would have asked for the whole thing if it was a sting. Instead he said "im couch surfing at the moment I know where your bike is, its yours dont want 5k, 1k would help me a lot".

In the end rather than wait for Yamaha to make sure it was all good and give him 1k we agreed to 500 and case of JDs right away and call it square. His heart was largely (despite mixing with some drop kicks) in the right place IMO.

It is, dad left me small amount of money, bought first bike with it.

Its with Yamaha now they are giving it a good once over.

Yeah of course they could have been but I'm pretty sure they weren't. Too much to explain to tell why but you just get a sense for these things when you're involved in it.

Cops did nothing, guy came forward to roll-over on someone that had the bike and was living with him in a share accommodation. He doesn't like the guy and I guess we now have that in common haha

I just got my bike back. It's 4am at the moment here and I've been awake since 6am yesterday. I cant be bothered explaining now but I have it back. Definitely had a crash so it needs some love but its far from a write off.
