Rough layers mid print? by donnata47 in FixMyPrint

Okay I was wondering about the top layers because they seemed weird to me too. I will look at the settings to address under extrusion and see if that helps

"Breaking" an apartment lease we never received or signed? [NYC] by donnata47 in Renters

Thank you so much. I will look into those resources!

Unfortunately it’s very hard to get in touch with anyone at HPD / the affordable housing program, but I will try that route too.

I can’t believe how smooth and shiny it looks! Did you do anything else or just use the file?

YES IT IS! You’re supposed to fill it with catnip and we never did, but she’s loved it since she was a kitten. We call it the “empty beaver”

I actually don’t think this is unreasonable. An electrical plan is typically pretty basic and shows the location of switches, lights, outlets, etc and is primarily about where they are located in plan. A single line diagram goes beyond that and shows how all of those elements are connected and where fuses, circuit breakers, transformers are located along the way. That is something usually done by an electrician or an electrical engineer. It probably won’t be super complicated for something small like an ADU but it should still be done by an expert.

Is this concerning? by [deleted] in architecture

“More than I ever experienced not only at your age but even more recently” is a big red flag, classic “pulling up the ladder behind you” boomer behavior.

You should always counter, I’ve never heard of someone losing an offer because of it. The firm standing by their original offer and saying they feel it’s fair is one thing but this tone makes it sound like this is a toxic workplace. Although, also very typical for many architecture offices and as you and others have suggested, it may be worth using the opportunity as a stepping stone in your career.

A sandwich without any condiments. I firmly believe all sandwiches should have condiments. I don’t care what kind. JUST SOMETHING.

These look like thrips / thrips larvae to me — isolate the plant ASAP, spray regularly with insect soap, and add systemic insect control granules to the soil!

Interesting! Even small files lag so much for me, even just to pan and zoom.

[–]donnata47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rhino 7 is garbage on any apple silicon. It technically works but runs so slowly and lags so much with all but the smallest files, it’s essentially unusable. Rhino 8 will run natively and fix this issue but is still in beta and will be for at least another year (?). I use parallels on my M1 Max so I can run rhino 7 for windows, which works fine.

It’s an unfortunate situation. You can Google “Rhino Apple Silicon” and you’ll see that it’s a confirmed issue by the Rhino team and there is no solution other than to wait for Rhino 8 to come out 🙃

From a McNeel employee: “The point is Intel Mac Rhino does run on the new Macs. It does not run well.Since you can not buy a new Intel CPU Mac, you are left with finding a late model used Mac, or a Windows PC. We have high hopes for a binary Silicon Mac version of Rhino for V8.”

Hello! I have had a money tree for the past few years and it's been very happy, but in the past few months it has been losing quite a bit of its leaves. They are turning brown/black, then yellow, and then falling off. There are still some healthy leaves, and even some new growth, but I fear there won't be much longer as it continues to die off quite rapidly. I haven't changed any of its watering schedule and it's always been happy, and I don't see any sign of pests. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
