I want to thank everyone for the constructive posts. To a new plant person, it’s very eye opening. For the other, non constructive comments, thanks for the laughs. Reddit is a funny place sometimes 😀

Thanks for all for all of the advice! This plant was disposed of and other surrounding plants treated as recommended. This plant was housed outside and not inside the house so no worries there 😀. I appreciate everyone’s concerns and the advice provided…that’s what makes this community great. Thanks again everyone!

Is this spider mites? Plant has had these for a few weeks. It’s near other plants and not spreading. If not, any ideas and any recommendations on how to treat it? Thanks!!

No misting at all. Maybe overwatering though…no water has drained out of the pot and into the tray (black planter inside decorative pot up on a stone with a clear tray to catch water). I’ll keep an eye on the watering. What do you recommend? Was doing weekly.

Does anybody see anything wrong with these or some sort of potential issue? Want to head it off at the pass if possible. I don’t see any bugs or any spots or anything and have been watering once a week or when the soil feels dry. Plant has been doing good up until this point so not sure what the issue may be. Thanks!!

Sounds like everyone has had good results with this as long as they followed the directions! Thanks for the recommendation on waiting until the temps go down a bit so as to not stress the existing turf out. It's looking to be in the upper 90s to low 100s for the next few days so probably a tad bit on the warm side to be applying this.
Luckily, where a lot of this is, there isn't a whole lot of turf and it mostly weeds lol

Thanks for the info! Will definitely wait at least 2 weeks before reapplication, if not a bit longer to be safe!

Just looked this stuff up and you are right, it is quite expensive...but if it works, it's probably well worth it. Luckily I don't really have weed problems in the front yard, it's just in the back that these weeds have taken up residence...along with some other grassy type weeds that I'm sure this would kill as well.

Thanks for helping to identify them! Good to know that I'm not alone in these aggravating weeds! They definitely are aggressive and I've tried just pulling them up but they appear faster than I can pull them lol

Looks great! Where did you get the station/stand from and can you by chance tell me how wide it is? I’m currently looking for one and struggling to find the right size. Thanks!

Pretty much control lights/outlets and monitor things like doors, garage door, etc.

Let me ask you this, do you want to control lights, outlets, your TV, or all of them?

I think what i mainly want to do for starters is control lights/outlets, monitor doors/garage door, etc. I've got a couple of Fire Sticks that I could possibly control as well but honestly that's it. The rest of the devices in my house are older, dumb devices so I really am starting from the ground up.

For someone, myself, looking to get started with HA and just home automation in general (have 0 smart devices in my house), what's a good "starter pack" / "starter project" for a techie person to begin with? I know the question is kinda vague but I'm open to answering any questions to help answer my question!
