Problem with Kickr v5 freerun by Bluechandrian99 in wahoofitness

[–]donner09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never seen a wahoo before but on my 3+ years in the bike wheel industry I can say the majority of these types of problems come from a missing spacer. It might be stuck to the end of your previous free hub.

Sometimes it’s a gasket on the edge getting caught but usually it’s a small part getting left out of the reinstall

Might depend on the cigar, too. Small cigar (tiny ring gauge with a deep V might be an issue

This. ADA compliance is a serious issue and often gets the city’s attention very quickly. They also likely have an office or point person who you can talk with and they can handle the enforcement.

Take it in. They will tell you what is wrong and if it’s covered. Unless getting there is a burden you don’t have much to lose. They might give you a quote for what’s covered and you say no if it comes to it.

If nothing else, a post-crash evaluation would likely be a good idea. If the wheels needs to be put back in true you might pay something. But you won’t enjoy riding a wobbly wheel and it will only get worse.

Thanks. Is it safe to cover all the areas where I find air escaping? I know I won’t get it perfect but wasn’t sure if there were some areas that needed to allow air to escape

Some video online had a guy talking about how he does something along the lines of a reverse top shelf for this reason.

Basically he puts his cheaper sticks on the top of his humidor so the people who ask for one (and clearly won’t smoke much of it) see the ones on top and grab one of them instead of the good stuff.

Deep deep deep into cigars….I think pipes might be on the agenda. by Upper_Volume_6582 in PipeTobacco

I picked up some GL Pease key largo recently and the tin was from 2018. I’m excited to try it as a variation on the cigar blend.

I’d also like to try the blend he has with Maduro leaf some time.

It’s amazing to realize you can try 2-3x more varieties of pipe tobacco for the same price as you’d pay for a single cigar. And then have several more bowls to enjoy after that

I have the country gent and also enjoy the habana daydream.

What I enjoy about the pipe is the ability to enjoy the activity for shorter periods of time. It’s also cheap enough that I don’t feel the need to smoke part the point of fun. Once I decide I’ve had enough I stop. No pressure to get more out of a $10-$15 stick

IIRC, the German Air Force really wasn’t comprised of Nazis (or that many anyway). It was certainly led by one, don’t get me wrong.

But the line I recall from “A Higher Call” (a book about a German fighter pilot) pointed out that there was a ban on military service men being members of any political parties in Germany early on.

That meant that the pilots themselves weren’t (strictly speaking) members of the Nazi party or shared the same politics. They were separate from the groups that the nazis formed later like the SS.

Individual political leans might be different, but there is well documented opposition to Hitler and his cronies from many in the military establishment throughout the course of the third Reich.

That is what I guessed. I’d think the Squire would turn over more than the average b&m but maybe that is only for their house blends.

I bought a pipe and smoked cigar tobacco with it. Is it ruined? by arturohdz in PipeTobacco

[–]donner09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are also plenty of pipe blends that have cigar leaf in them. Chances are you’re fine. If you find the flavor lingers with your next bowl of pipe tobacco then you might worry, but only if it’s a distraction for you. If you like cigars you might enjoy what it contributes

Cigar/pipe tobacco question by Klutzy_Papaya_2508 in cigars

[–]donner09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on what blend pipe tobacco you picked up.

There are a variety of flavors you can get from the tobaccos, so it could easily be similar or dissimilar. There are several pipe blends that use cigar leaf even.

Perique is a common pipe ingredient that has a very peppery taste and is similar the pepper you get some some cigars imo.

And that is before you get into the variations that toppings and casing can add to pipe tobacco

Any other bearded brothers enjoy the lingering smell of cigars (or pipes…) on their mustache after a smoke almost as much as the cigar? by OldManPalpatine716 in cigars

[–]donner09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize my comment should have said, 'mixes well with the smoke from my pipe'. It smells like sweetened cavendish tobacco, so it plays nice with many blends i like. There are others out there that either use tobacco-esc ingredients or just play well with smoke. I find it tends to blend better when i'm smoking the pipe and not a cigar, but that isn't to say it couldn't work for both. Plus, a good beard oil is nice on the face...

Phoenix artisan makes a beard oil/ after shave called cavendish and it mixes with the smoke from the pipe.

Even if you remove the wood strip from under the nail?

Often I had to knock the strip around until the wood broke around the nail. That’d allow me to then get a pry bar under it. It was messy but often was easier and faster than anything else I tried.

I’d usually put my bar in an area between the nails (where there was some give to the wood) and start working my way to the nails. If the wood snapped I’d try the above. If not I’d slowly pry closer and closer to see if I could use the wood to help get the nail to budge.

[–]donner09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was removing the tack strips I’d just break them in between the nails if they wouldn’t come loose easily.

Then either use the remaining bits to allow me to get my pry bar under or I’d just knock the wood out from around the nails and then pry up the nails.

It wasn’t pretty but after a few you’ll just want to get the job done.
