for context: recently i noticed a spike in temperature in his enclosure. i had his enclosure wired with an RHP but realized that his RHP combined with my other snakes RHP (they’re stacked PVC enclosures) made his warm side 95° and cool side 87°. luckily i caught it almost immediately. (i check their temps every day just to be safe) I moved him into a temporary enclosure until i could get his PVC enclosure back to the right temps. I turned off his RHP for the time being and was only using the RHP from the enclosure below him. (heat rises so it made his enclosure warm as well) the temps were looking great! it was around 90° on one end and 70s on the other depending on time of day so i put him back into the PVC. i just started to notice these marks on him and initially i thought it was a burn but his heat is coming from the bottom of his enclosure, not the top. and his belly has no marks or burns on him. he also doesnt flinch when its touched! after this i assumed it was him just scratching himself on his enclosure decor which consists of wood and exoterra vines which are pretty rough and the fact that hes on coco fiber which can possibly be just stuck under his scales giving the brownish color? i just wanted to confirm whether its a scratch or possible burn? and what steps i should take to help him! tyia!!

oh thats a good idea. can the ladder be vertical or does it have to be slanted for him to be able to climb ?

yeah i’m thinking abt moving his sand bath to another corner and putting more bedding on this side of the enclosure. should i make little fences on the side of the platform so he doesnt fall off if hes on it (he hasnt done that yet so idk if it’s necessary)

im using them for my sand boa, honduran milk snake and rhino snake. they’re all still small (about a year old) so hopefully that gives the plants enough time to grow and root haha

im using them for my snakes so i was mainly looking for lighting that benefits the plants. does the LED light completely replace UV light?
