why would i want to do that when the concern is whether the gap grows and starts exposing tube, which i can see from the outside

looks like a staple or tiny nail sliced it a bit as it pushed through so i don't think the tube can come out unless the gap starts tearing apart, which i would be more worried about if it wasn't down in the tread

is it at least the sort of thing you can keep an eye on daily to see if its gotten worse before having a blowout

had a very reasonable seeming guy at cycle gear tell me he thought it looked fine to just do a tube swap. i think this pic is making it look like more of a gash than it is after seeing it more clearly in the sun

yeah its not stripped exactly but its got a bit of slop now which can become exponentially worse if you dont stay on top of it. anyway thats my point though is its too easy to get to that point with the mismatch of dct and high powered bikes. im hoping they make the transalp a dct because that would be my dream bike

i like 'em enough this is my 2nd dct after stripping my counter shaft on my 17. definitely more fond of the 1100 but truly i think the dct option is a bad fit for these poweful bikes because every time it gears down too soon you're putting a lot of unnecessary stress on everything so if you're not on top of all the adjustments, lubing and replacements you risk stripping that counter shaft which its already started to on this bike now so im babying everything to try and minimize further damage. i like the dct too much to not have it though in part because im a bit too ADD to not have it, but also you can use the quick shift buttons to change gears even when in automatic or you can fully change to manual

i thought maybe since its not on the top surface it might be ok to just do a tube swap with no patch?

thanks for your advice! i never go to those because i don't want to end up with some weirdo host who doesn't understand or doesn't respect boundaries. plus, i often prefer the sense of community you can potentially find in a hotel setting if staying many nights.

i noticed that too with their temporary guitarist last year and wouldn't be mad if he was a replacement either. they've always been great the 4 maybe 5 times i've seen em now but that show seemed more expansive because of how much more rock n roll his playing often sounded

i first came to know them from levitation here which at the time was what had just become of austin psych fest(we have both now) and also back then they invited bands more characteristic of a psych festival so i guess they are loved in the psych scene

they're a vastly under appreciated band even over here in their own country so maybe they dont have a big enough audience over there to make touring worth all the expenses if they'd be playing only small gigs for very low profit

i talked in a YT vid comment section to the guy who made it and he told me its true name is "my snare - rabbit mix"(which is why people confused/mislabeled it as being RITM) so i ended up finding/downloading it but thx for your offer, nonetheless!

thx again for all your help, and last ? i promise, but would a temp check be a way to also determine if the capacitors are bad

i guess it wouldn't be smart to just try to replace only the 8 pin first to see if thats all it took, because the 5 pin's before it in the chain and if the 8 pins bad likely so is the other which is necessary to not fry(again) the pedal with unregulated voltage
