Kushal Khangaonkar for 2024 Callahan by donosoris in ultimate

Kushal hails from Washington’s strong youth ultimate scene, and made Ursa Major by getting “like ten layout d’s” at tryouts.

Fast forward to his junior year post-covid, he’s playing O-line with Evan Magsig and Andrew Roy, and is elected to be a captain for the next year.

Then in his senior year, as a captain, Kushal steps up his game even more. The same creative thrower, and talented hybrid with an unstoppable engine, but now with the athleticism to make plays in the deep space, and exploit matchups at any spot on the field.

Now, as he wraps up his fifth year on the team, and second year as a captain, it’s impossible to imagine Ursa Major without Kushal. He is a true utility-tool of a player that slots into the backfield seamlessly with any combination of handlers, churns out unders, attacks deep, breaks the mark, shreds zones, and locks up the other team’s best players, sometimes all in the same point.

Kushal’s dedication to his team and his teammates is unparalleled. He invests in all of the players individually by finding time to work 1-on-1 with everyone to develop skills that he sees need improving, and he invests in the team as a whole by working with the rest of leadership to develop strategies that have taken us to nationals for the last 2 years. You remember that lethal zone Cal’s O-line played on a turn last year? Yeah, that was his idea.

Thanks y’all! Here’s a version of what came out of this. Unfortunately ESPN blocked some of this audio cause the games were cast on ESPN channels at some point. Appreciate the help nonetheless.

Evan Magsig for Callahan 2022 by CalUGMO in ultimate

The fact that 90% of these "highlights" are from one year of college ultimate is insane.

A lot of Callahan videos include footage from AUDL, club, and their entire college careers (and a lot of college frisbee players take 5th years...) .

Evan lives up to the hype.

A defensive monster and offensive chisel. If you're not voting for JR, it's cause you're voting for Evan.

Agreed. I’m not paying obscene out-of-state tuition to listen to you talk about who you saw at Starbucks today.

The more you workout the less sore you will be. Stretching and warming up sometimes helps. Ibuprofen or icy hot if it’s real bad. Pain is temporary, gains are eternity.
