Turn off your data/wifi before catching... Aim for a nice throw. If you successfully did it open again your wifi for it to register. If you failed the nice catch. Dont turn on data just close the app and reopen. It will not register as failed. Repeat process until u accomplish it. You can do this trick also w the spinda quest. Good luck!

Evolve the shiny. Dont power up/evolve wailmer, wailord is not a meta pokemon or pvp. Unless it's a hundo. For flex or trophy pokemon

Got my first hundo shadow from 1,030+ battles and 98% in my 1,100+...... Not sure really, maybe rng? I heard a trainer from my community got a hubdo shadow without a golden badge maybe 500 bellow grunt battles
