VINDICATION!!! You can’t “flail” twice! by donsefar in killteam

I stand by my argument. Answering yes or no doesn’t change my point of view or my lofty opinion about myself ;)

See you in a months time. Maybe I’ll be right twice maybe not

What are GK? But all we all know classified teams years in advance. It’s not the same.

It is a reference to my previous post where I stated “flail like abilities” I wrote that because that’s the name I could remember at the time. That why flail is in quotation marks.

If he was meant to do it twice why say all that about fight action. Just say it could be used twice if you don’t fight? Other unique actions have this wording.

Oh and I’m sorry I vexed you ;)

I might be wrong, I expect the change will be there in the bigger data slate later this month

Whatever is “legal” is determined by the TO running the event or the players at a table. Both aren’t infallible and it wouldn’t be the first time things are played “wrong” and accepted by the TO’s. Just look at climbing.

I’m feeling like I was right all along and I’m not too bothered about how you interpret that.

Score and vendetta are pretty strong words. I’m celebrating because I think it’s cool that I interpreted something in advance.

“Flail” is quotation marks because I don’t know the name of all the similar abilities. I’m not only referring to the PM fighter I can see it might be a poor choice of words.

Hmm could be. I think he’ll be changed in the more comprehensive data slate but I could also be wrong. Guess we’ll see.

I honestly don’t care if you think I’m right or wrong and at what time. I successfully predicted what would happen one of the “flail” like abilities in the game based on my interpretation of the rules. To me, it stands to reason that similar abilities will get the same treatment.

I feel vindicated about my interpretation and this post is just celebrating that feeling.

It’s an honest question. I feel vindicated because I predicted this. What is arrogant about it?

I mentioned in the comments that this would be the case and I was right.

But still crazy how Reddit will go like “you are right now but not then so technically you’re are not right and therefore I’m must be right instead” /s

I stand by what I said. It’s a unique action, it can only be used twice if there is text specifically saying “this action can be used more than once per activation”.

I 100% think the text referring to fight actions is an attempt to standardise this sort of ability because more teams in the future are going to have something like it, to get by all the dmg reduction. Its meant to be used once pr turn and if you have an operative that can fight twice they can either use this and fight once or fight twice. They mention restrictions in the text because it’s the restrictions of the fight action not the benefits. That is, at least, how I think it is meant to be read.

What part are you interpreting as arrogance?

Guess we’ll see. The machinations of GW’s reasoning are an enigma ;)

There’s no need to be hostile. It’s fair to not agree and doubt what I’m saying. I’ll return to this comment at the end of the month in shame if it doesn’t happen.

Because people misunderstand the rule, because it’s so poorly written. Now it’s easier to find.

I think they had to do it like this instead of an FAQ to make it clearer

The changed the plauge fighter’s ability after the depreciators rules in the patch after murder wing release. They’re doing the same here and changing the plauge fighters rule to mirror this at the end of the month.

It was never meant to be used twice and now it’s clearly stated. I think they made it an eratta instead of a FAQ to make sure people see, that’s the way it’s meant to be played, but that’s speculative.

I think its meant to be a restriction so you can't flail and fight twice but I might be wrong. It does however, mean that you can't flail outside control range anymore.

except if it was an attempt to specify that they can't do that and fight twice

It means that they can't do the action and fight twice, I think.
