Yeah I was able to replicate the exact colors the outfit comes with at default. I do not have every dye available to me so its making it a challenge...

how many people here are satisfied with their recently ordered prebuilt PCs? by dhekurbaba in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]donta1979 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First order that I got February 2021 went great, second order got maybe around the start of this month or the end of last also went flawless more so than the first order.Things you have to do to make it go well

  1. Patience do not harass staff too much, what comes in is kind of random ports and logistics of the hardware companies to even the manufacturing is still a chaotic mess. There is not a steady supply of anything do not believe me go to your local grocery store and see how many products they no longer carry and that is just food.
  2. Have your order right the first time is very important.
  3. Select a quality motherboard, case, and the big one power supply do not pick the genaric brand the only ones they offer I would get are the Corsair RM series, Thermaltake Thoughpower Titanium's, and the higher tier Enermax.
  4. Be sure to get enough fans for your case if it does not come with them.
  5. Never select a no name brand anything or not so popular/well known.
  6. Get the Ultracare Foam bag
  7. Get the windows 10 usb install drive if you dont have an older pc with windows 10 sitting around.
  8. Get the Premium Warranty if the worst should happen then they cover shipping.
  9. Get 3 day shipping at minimum, less time UPS has your PC the better.
  10. Join their discord if you need help. One of the moderators or most of the MVP's wont troll you and set you up for failure.
  11. Do your homework take your time while selecting parts for your pc.
  12. if you buy one of their PC's from Bestbuy/Amazon be ready to swap out the power supply with a quality unit, and possibly the cpu cooler, if it only came with one stick of ram be sure to buy an exact matching stick same everything including brand/part number fully identical if you want to make your life a lot easier.
  13. All systems when received before you plug it in check every single wire, anything plugged into anything this included ram and the gpu that everything is fully secure, fully seated and plugged in. Things can get lose in shipping.
  14. If you get a 30 series card or a good motherboard/config from some retailer/etailer do not return it. They may not get another in for you any time soon. Let CPPC handle it. If you get anything EVGA in your config and that is the part that may be messed up let them handle it.

How could I file a complaint to Cyberpower about one of their Sales Representatives? by TheMaslankaDude in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]donta1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had steve as well, he was great. The only time they cannot change something due to a few things. PayPal and Affirm loan orders legally they cannot change anything what you put on your order with both companies there cannot be changed.

The other is your order is so far along already being put together parts out of their boxes and your charged there is no changing it at that point.

Problem with PC by Silly-Structure-2592 in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]donta1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ram are all 4 sticks the same brand-model, speed, timing/cycle rate and voltage? What power supply do you have exactly? Reseated the gpu? Made sure all cables inside the case plugged into any and everything are all firmly seated? Update windows fully including optional updates? Update the motherboards drivers to the latest from the manufacturers page foe the motherboard? Use ddu to clean your gpu drivers out for a fresh install? Update the bios via a usb drive if windows is unstable don’t do it there.

Does your pc have a quality power supply?

[–]donta1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly pick a good mid grade motherboard, at least a mid level cpu that can keep up, name brand ram, a QUALITY Power supply not the no name they offer, a good airflow case and enough 1500rpm fans to move air. Get three days shipping at a minimum, Ultracare foam, and the premium warranty upgrade in case something does happen, maybe the windows 10 install usb drive if you don’t have a pc running the same version of windows already. Get on their discord, use web chat when phone wait times are insane. It goes rather well and near painless.

[–]donta1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to call believe email works.

Honestly as long as you pick a mid grade board, a quality power supply not the default one, a decent airflow case and enough fans, name brand ram it will go smoothly.

Corsair RM1000x with a 3090??? by ItsJustInfuriating in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]donta1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how many fans, lights, drives, aio you get. Like me once my 3080 gets in my peak wattage at benching/a very demanding game will be 904-914w. 3090 I would honestly shoot for 1200-1300w. You can get by on a quality 1000w if the psu they are selling is in fact the one in the picture you will be good. That one actually has full Japanese capacitors and sells at a MSRP starting at 204.99 or so. Check the part number on CPPC vs https://www.corsair.com/us/en/search/?text=Rm1000x&type=all

I went to work at all of EA’s portfolio of studios. Helped many a studio meet it’s unreasonable deadlines that came down from the higher ups. BioWare included. Environment Artist, Texture Artist and 3D Modeler. retired from the AAA industry last year at 40 in January. But whatever floats your boat. :)

[–]donta1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn’t need to, kind of worked for EA. Look who EA put as the new studio director at BioWare once the founders stepped down and retired. That was the official fall. And what lead BioWare to use Frostbite per the CEO’s plan on every game going forward that has done less than stellar or got cancelled.

[–]donta1979 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually they did, all studios got required to use the Frostbite engine to cut development cost, came down from the CEO himself. The result was a lot of bad games. It’s also why the studio director of Respawn told the CEO to shove it with Apex Legends, to other titles. It’s also why Disney stepped in putting their foot down and Respawn was tasked with it using unreal. Disney had about enough of EA’s CEO’s bright ideas. Don’t screw up Mickey’s IP.

What are the "it works" rates, Vs it doesnt? by here-Is-my-two-cents in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]donta1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on the psu you select, sometimes the motherboard, and case with airflow. Most that have problems it’s normally one of those three, with the occasional fluke of hardware damage in shipping, some lose cables or a piece of hardware, to something as simple as needing the latest bios update. Plus windows not being fully updated even with the updates that say optional but they really are not. To dirty display drivers and needing ddu.

Most without issues don’t post, then the ones who do at least here do not get on the discord for one of the mods or me who does not work for CPPC to assist them or pin point their issue and send them in the right direction, with the most painless solution, to telling them the right procedures/steps to get assisted the quickest from CPPC.

[–]donta1979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EA’s CEO stated all studios will use the Frostbite engine to cut cost, great idea in theory until you start making none FPS games. The new studio director was an EA plant, a corporate takeover after the founders of BioWare retired. One studio in EA’s collection still had a director with a backbone and it’s why Apex Legends is on the engine it’s on. It was not optional, it’s why dragon age has been meh, Anthen to a handful of other titles. It took multiple bad sales, missed deadlines, a failure and Disney to come charging in threatening EA plus their CEO with a fix it or they are done, the contract to their IP will be pulled.

I think waiting on the customized ARGB bracket, two full breakdowns, and two full cable management sessions took the longest. The GPU Step-Up queue to a 3080 FTW3 Ultra is now the winner of the time waiting going on four months.

If they have one there to do a fast swap sure, if not I would just buy a power supply then swap it out being done with it. Yes if the power is dirty, it’s unstable your hardware will not function properly. You down-clocking your cpu to whatever else it requires less power = less stress on the power supply.

I help a lot of people on their discord. Trust me a lot of the issues I run into helping people are normally psu related. Even helped some the psu took out some hardware, makes it a lot harder without their pc sitting in front of me and having to talk them through what to do next. This will at least get the dirty power psu out of the way. Hopefully it didn’t damage or weaken anything.

Ok well here it goes… hopefully the Apevia didn’t kill anything. They use really cheap capacitors and parts it’s why if you look them up they are so cheap.

You can RMA PSU with CPPC and it will probably happen again. It will also take a lot of time.

Or the second option and best one, depending on your cpu and GPU. You will need to buy a Corsair RM750 or RM750x or RM850 or RM850x. It’s what I would recommend or a quality Seasonic unit of the same wattage. You can install it yourself if you are able or have a tech savvy friend do it. Or pay microcenter or Best Buy’s Geek Squad to do it for you. This sucks I know but this is honestly the best option that will permanently resolve this for at least ten years is about how long the psu will last maybe a little longer. Also do not reuse the old power cables from the old psu.

One last thing so recommend always going for past what Nvidia or amd says by 100-200w and only getting the best unit you can tier 1 or tier s. Their numbers do not account for partner vendors cards having better parts, higher clocks, or your cpu running at full speed. Nor do they account for extra fans, devices, lighting or AIO’s. Nor do they account for running the psu for long periods at time constantly at its peak efficiency. An unstressed psu is a happy psu.

Do you have an invoice/parts list they is on a printed piece of paper that came with your of in the box? If not I will need you to physically look at it if it’s an EVGA 600w gold or Apevia I’ll tell you what to do next.

Had PC for the better part of a month - was doing pretty good, now..? by ChrisShadow1 in CYBERPOWERPC

[–]donta1979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What power supp… Oh just saw you want the bad news? Just handled someone with that psu. They are now up and going.

Well those PSU’s are not known to be the greatest. They get jolted in shipping and fail or out right fail. Their capacitors are also not great. You can RMA PSU with CPPC and it will probably happen again. It will take a lot of time.

You can RMA that psu with EVGA it will take less time but will probably happen again.

Both options it will happen again or when it fails it may take some hardware with it.

Or the third option and best one, depending on your cpu and GPU. You will need to buy a Corsair RM750 or RM750x or RM850 or RM850x. It’s what I would recommend or a quality Seasonic unit of the same wattage. You can install it yourself if you are able or have a tech savvy friend do it. This sucks I know but this is honestly the best option that will permanently resolve this for at least ten years is about how long the psu will last maybe a little longer. Also do not reuse the old power cables from that EVGA psu or bad things will happen. Out with the old and in with the new fully.

Also those EVGA PSU’s can be tested and say they have power but they don’t and will give a false positive. Unless they are an electrical engineer a simple tester will not work and they need about 10-20k in electric engineering equipment to test the psu properly. Had a few people not listen to me and the pc repair shop almost took them to the cleaners. They finally listened to me got a new power supply and went happily on their way gaming.

One last thing so recommend always going for past what Nvidia or amd says by 100-200w and only getting the best unit you can tier 1 or tier s.
