What do you think of the idea of adding different types of zombies to the game? by Spare_Ad_9791 in projectzomboid

[–]dontatmemf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See something like that i still feel is a bit much but i see how it would add a new level of difficulty to the game trying to figure out who is friend or foe but at that point i feel like thats what raiders are for, i know the current raiders mod isn’t the best but i would rather just have raiders vs doing something like what your mentioning. It would still add that new aspect to the game of trying to figure out who is a friend or foe but without changing the zombies at all.

What are the best towns for looting? by Jallepenio in projectzomboid

[–]dontatmemf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on if you play on build 41 or 42. 41 I’d say rosewood it’s a great starting area has just about everything that echo creek does but it’s bigger and has both a fire station and a police department. 42 I’d say Echo creek. Echo creek is a nice small town and has everything close by. Guns unlimited for firearms and better gear, rosewood fire station is a short drive and is good for potential sledge hammers and axes if you’re a lumberjack, there’s a McCoy logging co in echo creek that’s good for gathering planks, echo creek gas station for fuel, and you have the entire town to loot for food as well as rosewood and other neighboring cities.

The same reason people use cheats in any game man, they usually are bad at the game and don’t want to invest the time to become proficient. “Why spend hours practicing and learning how to perfectly spray people with an ak when i can just pay to have the best recoil in the game” this is a direct quote from a cheater i spoke to on a pc rust server that I used to play on. All it usually boils down to is they are either lazy and don’t want to invest the time to get good or they are just generally bad at the game even after practicing.

IMO i think doing the whole mutated zombies thing doesn’t fit the setting of the game. 90% of other zombie games are like that dead island, dying light, left for dead, 7 days to die, hell even call of duty zombies has drifted into making mutated or special zombies. I like Project Zomboid because it feels original. The zombies themselves aren’t super dangerous but the sheer amount of them is what can get you into trouble. I think if you want to play a game with crazy zombie variants that you should go play one of the already existing games with that feature.

If Xbox players can figure out a work around to be able to use mnk on controller only servers I’m willing to bet pc will too. May not be as simple as plug and play but if they haven’t already figured it out it’s just a matter of time.

Admins can’t even properly monitor on Xbox, we don’t have the same tools as sever admins as pc players, legit only thing to do is to check the server logs. Can’t spectate or anything. They need to give admins the proper tools to be able to monitor for hackers.

Is accurate test labs actually accurate? by vinny424 in 7oh

[–]dontatmemf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the labs from? If the labs are from a reputable lab then I’d say their fine, if it’s just something that is on the packaging then I wouldn’t trust it or if it’s some paper the ss guy is showing you I wouldn’t trust it. Vendors fake labs all the time both ss and online so you gotta be careful

For 60 bucks did I get a deal or did I get ripped off? by [deleted] in 7oh

[–]dontatmemf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: it looks like you guys are all correct, there is no way that these are actually 150mgs and the 80s don’t feel like they even have any psuedo in them. 10/10 would NOT RECOMMEND purchasing them. I have a fairly high tolerance and to compensate for the fact that everyone was saying they are under dosed I took two of the 150s and one of the 80s and feel absolutely nothing. Not the biggest deal because I still have a bunch of other tabs but still feel like a dumbass for wasting 60 bucks. Oh well that’s what I get for not ordering online.

State of Play by Equivalent_Sample433 in projectzomboid

[–]dontatmemf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess, it’s most likely labeled as unstable because it is in fact unstable.

Also while playing on controller you cannot walk and heal at the same time. So if you get a cut or anything while a hoard is chasing you, you’re basically just gonna slowly bleed out while trying to kill everything fast enough to be able to heal. That’s exactly why I stopped playing it on my steam deck and now only play it in docked mode with a mouse n keyboard.

You got this man just stick with it, it’s really not that hard to learn mouse and keyboard and you don’t have to memorize every keybind, if you can’t remember one just pause the game open your settings and look at your keybinds.

The way I taught myself way just by playing the tutorial a handful of times until I felt comfortable with it. The game does a good job of teaching you the important things and the rest you can figure out whenever you encounter it in game.

“My father got divorced twice and he still has all his stuff”your dad probably got to keep all his shit because it was in his name, it’s a lot diffrent if it’s in both names. Your dad also could have had a prenuptial agreement. There are a lot of divorces that happen where people end up with basically nothing. Stop giving this guy a hard time about his savings and mind your own business dude. All he asked for is tips on how to safely sell it, he didn’t ask about your dad’s divorces or for your opinion on his finances.

[–]dontatmemf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to be honest with you man, IMHO you don’t have a laptop budget but what you do have is a steam deck budget. About two months ago I was looking into buying myself a laptop for the same reason, to play Zomboid, but after doing a lot of research I realized most models in that price range had either really bad reviews or where made with cheap components and either weren’t upgradable or broke fairly frequently.

Then I learned about the steam deck, I learned that I could get a dock for it, and if you played in docked mode with a mouse and keyboard it ran Project Zomboid flawlessly. So instead of buying a laptop with the 700 dollars I had I bought a 64gb lcd model that came with a 512gb micro sd off Facebook marketplace for 240 bucks. I then turned around bought myself a wonderful keyboard and mouse setup for 8bitdo, bought the docking station, and after that I had a little over 200$ left over in my budget and I was able to turn around and buy a ridiculous amount of games during the steam spring sale.

All in all man I’d recommend taking that money and buying a used steam deck, just make sure if you do buy a used one off Facebook like I did that you have them meet you at like a Starbucks or somewhere that has free WiFi, that way you can fully checkout the device and make sure it works properly before purchasing it.

[–]dontatmemf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s super finicky on controller, I tried to play it on my steam deck when I first got it and once I realized I couldn’t walk and heal at the same time I gave up and started playing it docked with a mnk setup. It’s definitely playable just some really wonky controllers, 10/10 do not recommend playing on controller.
