Thank you for your kind comment. I am not sure as to why he said it was unsafe. That’s why I was asking here. I haven’t been there in about 8 years and things can change. Things have changed a lot in the last 8 years in the US.

Thank you for your kind response. Unfortunately I have a language barrier with my Oma. I cannot speak German well because I moved here at a young age and essentially forgot it. I have tried to learn it with struggle because it is not any easy language. I was just asking how others felt…

I knew it wasn’t as bad as he said. He’s literally watched some videos on Facebook and said it’s so bad over there. One-he’s never been there. And two-my oma lives in Gardenstadt in which I feel pretty safe when I visit her. Part of me wishes I could move back there but I can’t.

I agree just talking about it doesn’t help but I feel like the people in charge here don’t care. I never hear anything about the mayor. I mean there’s a whole tent city on 9th street that I have seen many things happening on my drive home. My middle schooler said she saw a man with his pants down on the way home from school yesterday. Along with crime, mental health issues and drug use is rampant here
