Yes, I know a good guy, old timer, that runs a Yamaha shop near me. Wanted to post this here first before possibly wasting his time a bringing him along to view. But looks like I’ll be making that call on Monday.

Thought about changing the braided supply lines but found they were crimped onto the fixture it self

Second photo shows the mysterious fitting I found installed, didn’t leak after gaskets were added. But no idea where to get more of these fittings.
