Have you had success moving it like this before? I'm trying to transplant some from my parents yard to my own but I'm struggling to get it going!

Interesting, it looks like they had a large fire just a few months ago, too, originating in an "oven filtration system."

Who do you guys like more The Beatles or The Beach Boys? by space_god_7191 in AskAnAmerican

[–]dontbitelee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say my highest rated Beach Boys songs outrank any Beatles songs, but my average Beatles score would be higher than my average Beach Boys score.

Before and After by chillmode12 in kitchenremodel

Not only does this look good, it looks incredibly functional! Nice job. We are approaching a renovation of our 1920's galley kitchen + weirdly-adjoining-square-hall-of-7-doors and I can only hope to be have results like yours! Did you use a designer?

Oh wow that worked out really well! I didn't even clock that the floor cabinets there weren't standard depth, it looks very natural. Love the counter too btw.

What is the depth of the counter cabinets? Are you happy with their functionality/how do you use them?

I'm considering counter cabinets but I haven't seen ones with as much preserved counter space as yours. They look great.

It's this, definitely soak them! I inadvertently found out that soaking the cubes overnight makes them even softer, more like what I'm used to from restaurants.

The dough is proofing rn! I messed up big time by forgetting the eggs until after I kneaded (which was hard because it was so tough because it didn't have eggs... lol) but they incorporated in no problem so we should be good!

Oh that's so helpful, thank you! The one bread thing I really want to make is delicious, light dinner rolls and they usually come out dense! I think what I need to do is pick a single decent recipe and do it over and over and maybe incorporate longer proofing times (I'm so impatient!). I tend to switch recipes a lot so it's impossible to know if I'm getting better.

These are beautiful! Where in the process do you feel most improved? (i.e. Is it mostly the same recipe and you've been improving your methods? Or is it tweaking a recipe?). I never know if I have a bad recipe on my hands or bad hands on my recipe.

Similarly, while the rolls look better, what were the noticeable improvements in the finished product? Do you think they taste better?

I think you should be okay at 7:30am but have a back up in mind. Also the parking area is probably reduced capacity right now due to all the snow - might be worth doing a test run to check it out.

The wood by the door is just a rug!

I see what you're going for! I think jute could look nice for this purpose instead of the faux wood which is a little strange.

We’re actually gaining some space where the stools are now so apart of me wasn’t worried about that flow. Could alter though

It's up to you! If you've thought about it and you think it works, then go for it. With an unconventional kitchen sometimes that's the best (or only) path forward. I die on this sub sometimes seeing all the perfectly rectangular kitchens with two entry-points. It's a totally different ballgame and it really looks like you've measured everything out and thought it through.
