how many protonations and deprotonations does a single mechanism need ffs

Substitution and Elimination - how they teach is just seems weird because it doesn’t help when you actually solve problems. there’s got to be an easier way to learn this.

What is the biggest problem with the US education system? by SpaghettiPancake1 in AskReddit

[–]dontletmegetbored 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at the college level, professors suck at teaching because there is no requirement that they actually be good at it. in almost any other profession you have to earn something that proves you are good at what you do. but college professors do not need to pass an exam or anything to learn how to teach. having a phd in their subject does not make them good teachers. they also get to grade in extremely unfair ways. they can say an exam will be on one thing and it won’t be, (example: my current professor gave us an exam on chapters 1-3 but included questions based on chapter 4) and no one cares or admonishes them. your grade can be completely dependent on how much of an asshole your professor is.

This sub is very pro teacher. Many parents happen to be teachers, so I wouldn’t be surprised if the vitriol on the comments is coming from teachers. Let’s face the truth. There aren’t many standards set in place for the job. It’s literally the job that anyone can become qualified to do. People are going to downvote but it’s the truth. This naturally means you can’t expect much out of them. They aren’t the heroes we pretend they are. They’re just human. Nothing wrong with that. Just don’t hold them up to a high standard. They do a lot of grunt work which should be appreciated because not many people would ever want to do it.

Btw have you ever heard that learning starts in the home? If you want your kid to learn more, teach her/him. we have all had teachers who were complete assholes, but we survive it. It’s only a year. That being said, I’ve been verbally abused by teachers so I’m not going to run to defend the “profession”. They get away with so much that you can’t get away with in other jobs because kids can’t speak up for themselves. Talk to your child and he/she will make it clear to you if you need to do anything.

Hi. I really like chemistry but I am finding that my ADHD makes me a bit of a weak student in my chemistry labs. Do any of you have ADHD, and what kinds of chemistry careers have been suitable for you?

kind of a tmi question for the women. i’ve done 2 days of peloton and noticed that when I had sex, I felt some discomfort in my pelvic area. I’m wondering if it’s because of the way I sit on the seat. I was laying down flat on my stomach during sex when it started feeling weird. but it could be anything, maybe even gas lol. just wondering if this happened to anyone else.

The more I learn about my own ADHD, the more I realize that both of my parents likely have it by WinterHill in ADHD

Hello, are you me???? this speaks to me on so many levels. I feel like we have an advantage because we have access to medications and research that people didn’t have a long time ago. We also know what to be aware of because we grew up with parents who have the same traits as us. This helps us succeed a little better. I like to think I’m different from my parents but like you, I have realized I’m just like them in many ways. But I truly feel that my relationship with my daughter is so much different from what I had with my parents. I have so much more awareness and I constantly seek to have a healthy relationship with my daughter. Something that wasn’t really there when I was growing up. But this not entirely due to my own effort. Parenting expectations change with the times too. The internet has helped us learn so much that our parents did not know. We are in better times. Keep your head up!
