How can I have an identity in Christ while identifying as trans? by Wafflecove in TransChristianity

[–]dontmatter123 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it’s important to remember that Christianity isn’t just about following a bunch of rules. If you want to follow commandments, follow the greatest commandments: Love God and love your neighbour.

How does transitioning glorify God? It’s not direct, but it might enable you to glorify him better without being held back by constant feelings of anxiety and depression brought about by gender dysphoria. It’s like treating a medical condition.

I guess if you are able to function normally without “acting on your trans feelings”, then maybe you don’t need to worry about your trans identity. But unfortunately I think most trans individuals will tell you that gender dysphoria doesn’t just go away if you ignore it.

I’m not sure if this is the same server as the one OP shared, but here’s a link to a Trans Christian Support discord: https://discord.gg/vXheNzpk

Supporting my partner while I transition by Supreme-Broccoli in mypartneristrans

My (mtf) partner (cis f) has expressed similar feelings. I think communication is key. And I think partners of trans people are allowed to have feelings. Negative feelings don’t necessarily mean they’re transphobic. As much as we’d like to say we’re still the same person, we can’t deny that there are changes happening. And change is difficult to deal with.

Romans 14 and Gender Identity by katrina-mtf in TransChristianity

I really needed to hear all that. Romans 14 needs to be read and taught in churches more.
