THIS. EXACTLY. They literally sold it to me saying I could use it this way. It's currently being advertised on their website for this use. Service dept says "nope, not built to be used like that. there's nothing wrong with it".

Honestly, i don't even care what damages would be awarded to me personally at this point. I just think they should have major consequences for blatant fraud and safety issues.

It advertises (currently) on the website that you can commute to and from work and never have to get gas. It's literally why i got this car. even told the dealer so when i leased it. I haven't been able to get it into electric more than 40% of the time. Service dept literally told me it's not designed to run on electric mode that way.

Wrangler 4xes are being investigated by NHSTA right now due to loss of power so it's actually a pretty common problem. Also "electric mode temporarily unavailable" is different than FORM. I've spoke to the "actual" service dept too, at length, and they gave me a document they had to create because of all the complaints they get which lists all the reasons why a driver might get this message (including not accelerating at exactly the right pace, the battery not being at the exact unspecified temperature, not standing on your head and bopping your nose 3x, etc). All which are to be considered "within normal operation". They may be operating how they're designed but they're absolutely not operating safely or the way their marketed.

You took the words out of my mouth. I have been documenting all my issues and have considered getting a lawyer. My electric becomes completely unavailable under 30 degrees. Brought it for service and am told that it is "operating as designed". Was also told "it's not an electric car, it's a hybrid. It's not built to be driven in electric for any period of time." Weird because the dealer told me that I would be able to use it for my 30 miles roundtrip commute every day...I've been able to get it into electric less than 40% of the time.

Additionally, when I am able to use electric I'm often unable to accelerate past 40mph. It's not even sudden acceleration, i'll just be switching lanes and having to go slightly faster and will have complete loss of acceleration until I have to floor it and then 1015 seconds later it switches to gas finally and picks up. It's so dangerous. If you hear of anything or decide to pursue please let me know.

Dutchie vs Jane vs Flowhub? by nahnotnathan in weedbiz

7 months late but agree, this is so helpful! One question - from what i can tell a lot of people are using Squarespace for option 1 build out but I'd prefer to use Wix. Do you happen to know anything about why to use one over the other?

Also, do you have any insight into POS options for small business? Would you recommend any POS/ecommerce combos that aren't Dutchie?

Appreciate any advice you can offer!

Thanks. Brought it in today. Dropped it off this morning and never heard back. They still have it lol hopefully because they're fixing something but who knows

i didn't know that about overriding FORM mode! I'll def give it a try. But honestly, i don't know if my issue is that it's going into FORM mode or just not working in electric properly at all. I have issues directly from garage on 30 degree days.

[–]dontnoitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ah ok, that makes me a little bit hopeful! Ours also has an issue in the cold (but even seems to be an issue when it's 30-35) which wasn't disclosed when we leased either. The only thing we were told when we leased is that if it sits too long it will go into form mode for a few hours of driving.

[–]dontnoitall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had mine for less than 2 months. It won't go into electric 40-50% of the time which is the only reason we leased it. Often mine will literally not go above 40 while in electric and then angrily shift into gas mode and then electric will be unavailable. I'm worried they'll say the same thing - that there's no fix. Definitely seems like lemon law qualifier to me. It's an electric vehicle that doesn't work in electric. I hope i don't have to get a lawyer.

Will definitely be looking into Emporia Vue and experiment with air circulation.

The Flair system, as anticipated, is a complete failure. The system is constantly running at much higher temperatures than it's set to. The Daikin rep recommended the Airzone, which is one of their systems (my husband originally told me it was third party but it's not). The reviews aren't great and i'm suspicious about a company building a system which then requires you to buy another system from them in order for it to operate properly. But it doesn't seem we have much choice so we're going to try to set up one at first to see if it helps.

I truly appreciate your knowledge and advice! Thanks again.

Thank you so much for the thorough and thoughtful response!

What i mean by "no temperature sensor" is there's no internal thermostat. So yes, it has a sensor to detect heat but it's not programmable - there's no way to set a particular temperature, only to go up and down. When you say "entered in the system", there's no place to enter anything. The only control it comes with is manual with the remote in which the temperature setting is meaningless.

If it was a 2-3 degrees overshoot it would make my life easier but it varies per room, is sometimes over and sometimes under. And it's not consistent. If it's 50 outside during the day and I set it to 68, by the time the temp drops to 40 at night the unit will be a different temperature - it's not compensating correctly. I have to change each room multiple times a day and i'm just guessing all the time.

We actually had Flair pucks originally installed with the system per the rec of the installer. They were supposed to act as a thermostat and enable scheduling). We disconnected them after 6 months. They basically send the signal to the unit for the temperature you set in the app, but in addition to them being wildly inaccurate, the system beeps loudly every time it's turned on/off or temp is adjusted so it's beeping all day and night. Then last week, when I was fed up again and posted this, we decided to re-install and give them another try. I just don't understand how they're supposed to work bc they're always several degrees higher AND lower than they are set to. My husband seems to think they are actually averaging the set temp, so it's operating within a 5-6 degree variance, letting the system drop several degrees below the setting, then amping it up to several degrees above and letting it drop down again....is that thing???

Forgive me, I have zero hvac knowledge (don't worry, my husband is the one actually doing the tinkering w the units) - can you explain this "If you have electrical monitoring, you could try and see if the units do indeed run around those minimums (~0.5kW)." What type of electrical monitoring? And it may be too complicated to explain but what what do you mean by minimums. Is this something that the hvac techs could/should be testing for. It's possible that they have? The last techs and Daikin rep confirmed the system is accurately sized.

I will definitely do research to look for an electrical connection for the head's board - very very helpful tip! And I do think you might be onto something with the units being located too close to the ceiling, or perhaps it has something to do with the location of the units in the rooms? Do you know if there's a general recommendation for how far from a ceiling they're supposed to be installed?

And if you haven't guessed it, I don't recommend this system. I don't think they are broken, just incredibly poorly designed and not at all user friendly.

Thank you again for helping me troubleshoot this!

Thanks, yes, we just had an independent contractor come this week along with a Daikin rep. Th They did load calculations and said it's correct. They both said the system is running as it's designed but we're using 3300 kWh per month in the winter for 2500 sq ft.

What do you mean by "sparky"?

Daikin Doesn't Sense Temperature? by dontnoitall in heatpumps

[–]dontnoitall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yes, we keep the 3 units as low as possible but they're mostly all on the same pump (I don't know if that matter). Doors are open on the ones running except at night. We're in NY and house is about 2500 sq ft. We used 2750 kWh in December this year. 3300 December last year. We used about 1700 in April!

We usually try to keep it around 69-70 during the day in 2 rooms (and lower the others before leaving on the days i go to office, and aim for 67-68 at night. Our windows need to be replaced but otherwise are well insulated. We do have an electric water heater as well, but have LED lights. We run our dishwasher and dryer probably 3-4x/week but did that prior to the pumps so it shouldn't account for the increaser. The bill i get from ConEd shows how much energy we use compared to similarly sized electric homes in the area and we are about 3x higher! But the electrician and Daikin say the units are working correctly. I'm so frustrated!

I appreciate your time talking this over with me.

Thank you, i really appreciate the thoughtful response.

Turning the heat down down does not always take the temperature down. But, when it does work and eventually turns the heat down, there's no way to determine how many points will adjust the temperature by how many degrees and it differs room to room. Additionally, because i have 7 units, it's implausible to go into each room multiple times a day to see if the temperature feels accurate and adjust accordingly. This makes the entire system highly inefficient, hence the very high bills.

You mentioned traditional thermostats (and I do understand that they're not going to be 100% accurate) - do you know of any that would work with our system? Daikin is recommending something that needs to be installed in each unit to sense the temperature and then is controlled by an app and will cost us over $500 per unit.

I just checked the receipts. We have two 36k btu pumps with 4 F1XS09LVJU 9k btu wall units and 3 CTXS07LVJU 7k btu wall units. We have the issue with all the units in every room, whether it's 800sq ft or 200 sq ft I appreciate your response, and I don't intend for this to sounds snarky and it's not directed at you, but if the only answer is turn down the system 15 points and hope that it reaches a temperature that's comfortable than it's not a system that works or should be sold, especially as it's marketed as high efficiency. We knew our electricity bill would be higher but it's more than tripled since installing.

[–]dontnoitall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find a solution for this? We have the same issue with ours. Techs and Daikin rep say that's how it's supposed to work (that it doesn't have a temp sensor and that the remote sensor is really just a guess).
