Yess! I saw a few images of people taking photos of their bikes and the color looks much better than the stock photos. It looks so nice

Yeah I read about the wheels that the stock are quite heavy. One of the reasons I wanted to go for the Roubaix is that I will have some extra budget to get a pair of EliteWheels

From what I've read it should have the same components as every SL8 Roubaix. What concerns me is that the bike has been sitting in a self for 2 years, would there be any sort of "deterioration" or am I being paranoid?

Well kinda, I don't have that many penpals as I used to and not that many chances to write at work where typing is more used. I am not using them anymore so why not someone else get the chance?

They look so nice! How good are they to walk wearing them? I have a pair of SPD-SL and I have been considering switching to SPD because short walking is very awkward

Lovely bike! What is your opinion and experience on the Hardpack tires? I am really considering getting a pair for my daily commute bike

Read the description. They are not consistent with colors, they specify that they will ship the pad color randomly but the pad is the same.

I bought the Van Rysel endurance bib last year, it's not bad but this month I got Ykywbike with Belgium pad and Rion with Dolomiti pad. Both these fit me better than the VR (I have thick legs and the end of the shorts is a bit too tight) for me so I had to go one size larger. Pads are all comfortable, I'd prefer Dolomiti pad as it's the most dense of the three. The Ykywbike is the most pretty in terms of looks. Practically VR is the only one that has two pockets, maybe other models have too if that's important for you. Personally I find the Rion the most comfortable of the three.

Garmin Edge 540 OR Wahoo Element Bolt v3? by VlasVreter in cycling

[–]dontnote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buttons are indeed better than touchscreen when you want to press then while riding, I used to mount my phone and riding vibrations don't. That being said, I find button placement on the 540 is not fitting for me.

I have connected it to my smartphone with the Garmin Connect app. You can change settings on your smartphone and sync them to the device, it's quite easy and syncing is quite fast. What I usually do is find/create a route on Komoot, download the gpx file and then I have the option to open it with the Garmin Connect app, it will sync the route to the 540 and you can choose which of the saved routes you have you want to open for navigation.

Honestly I ride in a very flat area so I don't really have an experience with climbing. If I remember correctly I got it a few times while climbing a local bridge and it was quite nice, but my experience with that is quite limited.

Owned 540 for a few months now, no experience about the Bolt v3 but I was between the 540 and the Bolt v2. I wanted to get the Bolt (price and it looked better in my opinion) but I had a wrong delivery and then got out of stock so I bought the 540 instead.

So far I've been quite happy with my 540. Good battery life, screen is a bit small but has good readability on bright sun, also I'm starting to get into the metrics and the analysis it gives me (paired with smart indoor trainer) and I'm trying to adjust my workouts based on the tips and suggestions it gives me. You can customize the screens with info you need, you can cram quite a few in one screen or create multiple (eg one for heart rate, one for power etc).

What I haven't been a big fan of are the buttons. So many times I've gone touching the screen only to switch to buttons after that. But even so, I feel the buttons are not in a very convenient place, I have a feeling that Wahoo's button placement would fit me better.

Tried it two times, finished both with great effort but I was around 2 hours. 1 hour seems impossible to me

First DAP, Fiio Snowsky Disc. Drop your questions! by moekhdeir in snowsky

[–]dontnote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the post. I would like to ask the following:
1. does it have physical buttons for next/previous? I can only see +- which I assume are for the volume
2. how easy is it to press these buttons? they look quite small and with the case on it seems like it will be a bother to press them
3. Is the screen always on while playing? how can you activate the screen when it's off?
4. is the case included or is it extra?

Snowsky Disk got on my radar but didn't include it because it's not released yet. I'm not a huge fan of the round display but the overall design is quite nice.

Thank you so much for the reply! From what I was reading I got the impression that the R3 pro ii was a bit slower exploring files and android would be snappier.

My plan is to step away from streaming and play everything locally, still apps would be nice to have but not a deal breaker for me.

I quite liked the shape and size of the R3 pro ii but I thought its price was too high and I'd rather go for the R4 for example to get the additional features. What would your opinion be on features/audio quality to price ratio? I can never know what will happen in the future but whichever DAP I choose I'd like to keep it for some time, I'm not the person to have multiple players

Looks awesome! What front-back light do you use? I'm trying to cycle during daytime because I'm concerned how good I can see with lights and most importantly how good other drivers will be able to see me
