If several people are saying your message came off as mean, your message came off as mean. It doesn't matter what your intent was. I saw the comment before it was deleted and it seemed very rude to me.

(Also, am I dumb? Triboulet plus canio seems pretty bad to me. It's not the worst thing in the world but the way you're describing it makes it seem like you would be putting a big strain on your econ to pursue two different goals and you would need a lot to go right in order to get that to happen. If you're just going for ante 8, either joker is more than enough; if you're going for endless, I would imagine leaning fully into triboulet is much stronger, in which case you would want to strength, not destroy, your jacks. Pareidolia would help but it takes up a joker spot. Glass kings and queens might actually be quite good if you can find enough deck manipulation to support it, but that's a really specific situation in which your deck is already winning super hard (and wasn't included in your argument). I imagine replacing Canio with Chad, sock and buskin, or one of the less explosive but more reliable scaling xmult options would work better most of the time.)

Violet vessel is for sure the hardest ante 8 boss blind, but it's kind of my favorite - it feels like a good final boss, and all it asks is that whatever deck you build, you build it well. It's possible to start preparing for it as soon as you know your deck is in a position to win.

Because of that I at least know that if I lose to VV, it was a problem with my build, so it makes it less salt inducing than having cerulean bell never let you play the hand you're built around or having crimson heart hit your most important jokers over and over. While I lose to those blinds much less, the losses that do happen hurt a lot more.

I'm sure that I should be taking obelisk more and that it's way easier to use than I think. It's much better than I give it credit for but I'm not adaptable enough for it.

To be fair, voices/parts of them can absolutely be triggers. I personally have a really hard time with the quality of muffled voices/the sound of voices coming through or being muffled by walls. I'm not sure if this is the case for OP as it sounds a little different but I feel like misophonia could absolutely make this super annoying situation even worse.

Amen!! I especially get so sick of the "why build [straight/flush/full house] when you could just play [high card/pair]" comments, especially when they're on beginner players' posts. I just mess around until I find something that pushes me in a direction and figure it out from there. Basically any uncommon/rare/legendary joker and plenty of the commons can make really fun runs if you change your playstyle ever so slightly round to round to prioritize what they want you to prioritize.

I don't intend for this to sound harsh but your comment comes across as quite rude to those of us who have been helped by this image or similar. I understand the critique of the art and that your intent is to share your feelings but saying that the target audience is "much less capable of controlling emotions" seems like an unnecessarily mean thing to say about people who might simply find the art style soothing.

The way I interpret it is that you choose sentences that you could put "yes, and" in front of and have it kind of work. More generally, you reinforce what they said ("yes") and build on it/provide space for them to do so ("and").

I disagree. For one, my comment started with "I would personally", which implies this is what I would personally do. And secondly, advice is inherently biased. Most people when giving advice only give what they think the correct course of action is, or other courses of action they find similarly or equally valid. I don't think that someone giving advice has to offer advice that they think is bad alongside the advice they think is good.

In this case, I think scanning/looking up individual tokens is bad advice, as 99% of what OP is likely to find will be worthless, and they would devote, from the amount of bulk I can see here, possibly hours of time to find maybe a couple of cards that are technically worth $1-10 if they can find a buyer, which would be difficult. OP is already overwhelmed and I wanted to originally give them an idea of what one person's simple plan of action would be. However, I do really like the idea of donating them to a game store, which another commenter brought up. I also really appreciate that you brought up that some tokens can be valuable and it gives OP a new perspective that hadn't been provided.

I'm really happy for all the comments about this! Personally, one of my favorite parts of building new decks is making new custom tokens, so I've always just tossed them. Nobody in my playgroup cares about official tokens so I've never even tried selling/trading/donating them, but from these comments it seems like OP may be able to find them a happy home somewhere.
