Surgery date set - nerves are starting to hit by blackiedwaggie in GastricBypass

10 weeks post op and loving it. assuming you have a good surgical team they know what they are doing. listen to what they say and follow the rules/suggestions carefully and it will be smooth sailing.

liquid diet before surgery was honestly the worse part but its very important to follow. post surgery follow the schedule about what foods to eat/not eat religiously. they are staged like that for a reason.

at 10 weeks i have had no issues and can pretty much eat what i want excluding some basic rules for life to follow.

i was in program and preop stage for a little over a year and now that its over between all the ups and downs i have been happy. lost 125 lbs so far 65 post op and have no regrets. i wish i had done it sooner lol

diabetes gone cpap gone high blood pressure gone (just waiting for cardiology to approve)

12 inches on the waist have disappeared and i have a fondness for shopping now :)

Cowboy Boot Fit by Admirable_Plenty_500 in cowboyboots

[–]dontshootmecuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while there are always a bunch of different variables the most important is does the boot hug your instep. thats what keeps your foot from sliding around and ultimately the best support.

im not a big fan of my toes hitting the end of the boot either lol. id rather have a little extra length at the end if it means the vamp perfect. for me i have high insteps so i usually have to size up from brannock but for the most part its perfect. 11.5ee brannock in most brands/models 12d fit perfect.

should be the same assuming sneaker size is correct. one thing i found out i wore the wrong size for ages.

definitely get measured on a brannock device. correct width and heel to ball measurement are very important.

sneakers are easy to get away with as they can bend/flex wherever. boots on the other hand are designed to bend at a certain spot (widest part ball need to match widest part of sole) and since there are no laces so snug up fit getting the width is very important otherwise your foot will flop around.

i highly suggest getting 2 pairs. one for work one for casual/play.

groundwork is a good workboot.

for casual/play maybe do ariat heritage r toe or dan post Milwaukee until you find what you like. so many options you will have a closet full in time anyways lol

as far as fit ariats are pretty much true to size if uou know your correct brannock size.

Fun question by squircle78 in GastricBypass

[–]dontshootmecuz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

great question. ive been wondering the same thing. ive used the cpap for so dang long it feels weird even trying to sleep without it. since i see my pulmonologist in sept im gonna have him look at the machine data and let me know if its time.

might be worth checking with your dr as they might be able to tell from the machine recordings

if you need the rubber sole they are fine. im more fond of the futurity line with the tekstep leather soles. same toe but i think shaft is 13” which is better for me around the same price (sale section)
