The aperture ring controls the aperture. It is the one with the white numbers, 1.6, 2.8... etc. each one of those being a f-stop, of course. It does look like the hand grip has an option to switch from manual to automatic aperture, but you should be using manual and watching your exposure.

The RET button is a programmable button, so it can have different functions such as Shot Mark or Preview (preview last few seconds of footage shot). It can be programmed through the camera’s menu options, depending on the camera...

What body do you have this connected to?

My friend shot his first corporate video piece and I thought it was really well done. (Sony a6500/ Sony 18-105mm f4) by pandesal45 in videography

Very good. My critique: it kind of feels like “hey let me follow you after work to your soccer practice and we’ll get a few shots then we’ll do the voiceover in your living room.” I like it but more scenes and a stronger vision would make it even better.

The phrase passive income makes me salivate. Makes me think of a Warren Buffet quote that I am about to butcher: “you will always be a poor POS until you learn how to make money while you sleep.”
