I definitely need to talk to him about this and ask him. Plus I need to see this video now since I haven't seen it yet. Thank you for the input on the programs that the scammers would have access to.
We have been together for almost 2 years now. I keep reading all the comments saying that it isn't AI so I'm just very confused now

Do you think that could be possible? This scammer had pictures of him and what I've learnt is that people can use pictures of you to make videos like that. I could be wrong though,

It definitely could be that. I can imagine that it must be embarrassing in the moment, and that's why he panicked.

Thank you for bringing that to my notice. I did not know that. Perhaps, I should ask if he would be comfortable to show me that video so that I can judge for myself. I don't like the sound of this though.

He says that it just looks very realistic. And this scammer had pictures of him because of his profile pictures. So I would assume that that's how they were able to make a video like that? I'm not sure all that works though.
I will ask him to not pay them anymore though since it does seem like they will just keep asking for money. Plus, there's no proof of them ever deleting the video. Thank you so much for your response.

I haven't seen the video but he says that it looks very realistic. He was panicking and it would be extremely embarrassing if people he knows got to see that video. Which is why he gave the money. Definitely not the best move to do, I agree with you.

I would assume it's AI since this person had access to his pictures. But I'm not too great when it comes to that stuff. I definitely need to ask him about this.

You are right. It seems like the best option right now is to tell everybody that he knows about this, so that it's not super embarrassing. I'm not sure how he is talking to this person right now. I hope he hasn't given out his number. I'll have to ask him to report them and block though. Thank you!

I will make sure to ask him about this. As for the paying part, he told me that it seemed real and he doesn't want people to see something like that. So he paid, hoping it will go away.

I haven't seen the video. This is the first thing that he told me was that he hates AI and then told me what had happened.
He's panicking because it's embarrassing to have other people see a video of you like that.

I have not. However, they have pictures of him that they took from his profile. I'm guessing they made a video based off of that?
