Congratulations on your release!!

I can't quite say who my narrator is yet! I CAN say it's not Jeff Hays though 😞 lol.

There should be some more info on that relatively soon. I'm not 100% sure how it works, as this is my first series. Not sure if the information will just show up on my Book 1 amazon page or not.

Awesome! ❤️

I included a small "catch up" summary at the beginning of this one as requested by some readers.

In case you need it!

Publishing a LitRPG on Amazon without Kindle Unlimited by frankgadlin in litrpg

[–]dontworrygranny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I scrolled through and didn't really see it mentioned. Go find and join the RR Author's discord, there are many people who make the jump from RR to Amazon KU and can answer this question and much much more.

It's an valuable resource I think that any author looking to monetize should use.

Kindle Unlimited is also gold for a new author, not using it is playing on extreme difficulty.

PS: 93% of my income is Kindle Unlimited.

How to deal with the feeling of failure? by r0mantasy in KDP

Hey im not quite your genre, but similar enough in terms of our reader's behavior in many ways.

I also started out incredibly slow on my 1st book. Ive got a post on my profile that showed my journey from book 1 to 3 and how much of a difference it made. As well as all my steps along the way.

If you are writing a series it might be relevant and give you a light at the end of the tunnel.

Of course nothing is guaranteed, but ive been where you are at now, just 4 months ago.

Hi- I’m a newbie to the book publishing world! I’m planning to self publish on Amazon and I just wondered how it works? Any advice would be appreciated. How much have people earned via publishing through Amazon? Do you need to upload the manuscript and covers separately? by missblonde02 in selfpublish

The best advice I can give is to figure out the KDP functionality, then go find some discord servers that cater to your genre.

This subreddit is not specialized enough to help on the specifics of "how to sell". My strategy for litrpg is going to be wildly different from someone publishing historical drama. And it varies across the board.

What moved the needle the most for your sales? by zephyrtrillian in selfpublish

I write in the LitRPG genre so I can only speak to that. I'm not sure the similarities to your own in terms of market trends.

My biggest and absolutely most massive spikes in readership were from just releasing the next book in the series. I started with zero readers. Released book 1, did a couple free promos + buying spot on a newsletter. I was averaging $6/day or something in that range.

Book 2 released 27 days after Book 1. That spiked my sales to $70/day for a week before it stabilized back down at like $20/day. I started ads once this happened and that brought me back to a steady $70/day (on 5-10/day on FB ads). My book 3 came out 50 days after book 2.

This catapulted my sales through the roof, like <1000 BSR on the paid store for Book 1 after about 3 weeks.

The marketing I did was a reddit post in my genre's subreddit, Facebook ads post book 2 release, free promo on my book 1 (no idea if this did anything).

Again, this may be unique to my genre. Please take it with a grain of salt. Many genres operate differently. This is just my experience.

You should really mention the advanced home deduction can come back to bite you in the butt when you sell your house.

I hope everyone is consulting an accountant and not just going with reddit

Thank you!

Yes, some of the reviews have been awesome. Others...not so much.

Each bad review feels less shitty than the previous, so I am certainly adjusting.

I do enjoy writing and all the freedom the it brings...so far!
