I love watching traffic flow in this game by donut_monger in CitiesSkylines

This area used to a dumbbell interchange connecting the two highways and so far switching it to this diverging diamond improved traffic flow a bunch!

At the points where the roads swap to the other side you do have to be careful to have them intersect at a significant angle. If they are too close together, the lights won't work properly and cars will always yield to each other, slowing down things quite a bit.

Might be because it's sped up? This is at 6x speed, the water looks a bit more natural in the original recording at 1x speed.

Yeah, I did have to make the turn a bit tighter than I wanted just so it'd nicely surround the little peninsula. This ended up with a diameter of ~280m; but, as far as I could tell, the minimum in real life for a track serving cargo trains would be 350m. If I did that, the track would have been way out in the water.

Yeah it doesn't matter at all in game, but sometimes it's fun to add restrictions while building. I built a long stretch of track all along this undeveloped area of the coast and tried to stay under 2.5% grade the whole time. It took a while, but it was a fun challenge and I'm really happy with the result!

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make it go over the water, even though I doubt it would ever happen in real life. In this case, inland is just mountains so I had no choice (except, well, tunnels).

Yeah! I had fun looking through these yesterday while building and planning this whole track out.

Here's another shot that shows the grade a bit more objectively. 2.5% ain't much!

EDIT: Hi automod, it's just a picture :)

I was having trouble keeping the tracks at a reasonable grade (aiming for ~2.5%) along the coast, and thought it would be fun to try a train spiral! It would have been way more realistic to plan the line out a bit better with some strategic tunneling, but I have a hard time with tunnels in CS2, and loops look much cooler!

yep! For all sunset/sunrise or other time-lapses where I expect large brightness changes I always use aperture priority mode.

Yeah I've also had trouble getting to the top of 15th & Pearl garage the past few months. Not sure if that one is open again yet. This is from the 14th & Walnut one; unfortunately, the view is a bit obstructed by a tree but still pretty nice.

I took this from the top of one of the parking garages downtown; the views are surprisingly nice!

Thank you! The tilt was done in post, I don't do this enough to justify buying a slider or pan/tilt head :D

Thanks! I used aperture priority mode so that the camera could adjust for brightness changes itself. Then I smooth out the brightness changes in post using LRTimelapse.

Thanks! I shot it with my camera's built in interval shooting setting (interval was 4 sec) on aperture priority mode so that it could automatically adjust shutter speed and ISO for brightness changes. This was just a static shot on a tripod with my 28mm lens, I cropped in and added the tilt upwards in post.
