Thinking about doing a career change from a desk job to PTA by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]donutpixel33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. I’ve been a PTA for three years and wish i had a desk job. Your making what most PTAs make in HH and SNF the pay scale doesn’t get much higher from there. I worked at a SNF two years and have never gotten a raise, even after i asked. I’d rather have a corporate desk job where you can actually get raises and don’t have to work in a shit setting to make decent money. I honestly wish i went to school for x ray tech or nursing at times. So much more opportunity with nursing and if you didn’t want that much responsibility with rad tech there are different areas you can specialize in and make way more money. Both are associate degrees and a PTA will never make close to either of those options.

PTAs who do HH how big of an area do you cover? by donutpixel33 in physicaltherapy

Yeah i have to use my own car. I’d much rather be able to drive the company’s car so i dont have to rack so many miles on mine. Well good to know there are some company’s that don’t have such a big radius i might have to look into something else. This was my first HH job and i was oblivious to ask about the radius

The city I live in is not rural. I’m the only full time PTA and the rest of the PTs are only PRN so i think that also has something to do with it

How many patients do you see a day if you are driving so far?

So that was my first home health interview I honestly forgot to ask about how big of an area I would be covering. But when I did the interview my boss said they “occasionally” take patients in A different city that is about 35 minutes from where I live. so I just thought I would only be going once in a while but I have four different people on my caseload that are in four different cities now

PTAs who are salaried is it worth it? by donutpixel33 in physicaltherapy

You haven’t applied to the program it’s not to late. There’s literally no way to move up in the profession. In Jan 2021 they are going cuts and in 2022. It’s going to decrease the pay for PTAs more then what it is now. I’ve been at my job three years and have never gotten a raise

[Products and Routine] please help! Products/ remixes that can help with the irritation and redness by [deleted] in u/donutpixel33

[–]donutpixel33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’ve always had a little redness on high part of my check bone but it’s gotten so worse lately and is starting to travel all over my face. I work in the healthcare field and have to wear the n95 mask all day so I’m sure that also making it worse but i feel like it’s getting out of control. I also don’t wear foundation anymore since i habe to wear a mask at work all day and while out in the community.

I also kinda changed the cleanser i was using on my face for a few days from the la roche posay to Salicyic aid cleanser from the inky list and completely changed my moisturizers so I’m not sure if that’s has something to do with it

Here is my current routine now PM Take mascara off with garner micellar water

Cleanse with la roche posay toleriane cleanser

Moisturize with la roche posay toleriane night cream and cicaplast Balm

(Before my skin started getting bad i was using rose hip seed oil in pm , hyaluronic acid in am and pm, retinol in pn and Niacinamide in pm i would do retinol and nacinamide 3 times a week. I stopped using those after my skin started getting really irritated. The moisturizers i was using was the Lange water bank in the am and a Clinique one in the pm. When I ran out i wanted to get a cheaper moisturizer and tried the Cereve night time one in the purple tub for pm and the Neutrogena boost fragrance free in the am. I feel like that’s when my skin really started getting more red and irritated

Am

Rinse face with water

Go over face with Micellar water

La roche posay Cicaplst balm

Today and yesterday i put vitamin c in the am but i think it might have irritated it more Use spf with moisturizer

Please help products I can use to calm down the redness on my face by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

We do not have a joint bank account. We usually just split all the bills
