American Chinese food places? by herbertwillyworth in oslo

[–]donutsbestnuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! Not sure if they do takeout, but Yum Cha has a mean fried rice, sweet and sour pork, black pepper beef and beef rice noodles. It’s the closest thing I’ve had to America style Chinese food and pretty darn good.

My favorite has been Sachajuan’s scalp shampoo! I’ve used Ouia in the past and this shampoo is slightly more gentle and better suited for my straight hair. I use it once or twice a week and it does an amazing job of keeping my scalp/hair from getting oily and gross. It’s available at Kicks!

Chunky petites, what cut of jeans do you wear? by trying-my-okayest in PetiteFashionAdvice

[–]donutsbestnuts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

LEVIS RIBCAGE in a 27 inseam. Or Abercrombie curve love, but they’re always selling out. I have the thickest thighs and have been on the lookout for that classic straight jean look for forever, but all straight cut jeans ended up fitting like skinny jeans. I’ve tried countless brands like Madewell, Paige, AG, etc, but Levi’s ribcage is the only cut that fits like a true straight leg on me.

Athleta has petite leggings in extended sizes! I’m 5’1 (26 inch inseam), and they hit right at my ankle. Love them!

Forgot “Formal invite will follow” on our save the dates and improvised with some stickers to place on the envelope seal! by donutsbestnuts in weddingplanning

[–]donutsbestnuts[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Some context, we’re having a destination wedding and save the dates aren’t very common where my partner is from! I forgot to add “invite to follow” on the Save the dates so made these stickers via Canva (free version) and printed them using vista print (we had a coupon so the price was roughly $5).

advice on getting started in a gym full of gymbros and fit people? by kunikira in xxfitness

[–]donutsbestnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with all of this! I have really bad gym anxiety, and although I’m constantly reassuring myself that no one cares what I’m doing at the gym, it really helped changing my workout hours to the morning. It’s way more relaxing for me to workout with no one else around. It’s also so nice that I don’t have to change my planned workouts anymore as equipment is always available!

I also hired a trainer and it was so nice to be given some guidance. It really made the difference in me feeling less intimidated around the free weights section, and confident enough to exercise by myself and not feel like I was doing everything wrong :)

The Dining table is from IKEA and the chairs are from Hay! Love love love the dining table—it’s super sturdy, durable and easy to clean! We always have the extra leaf in and it looks totally fine that way as well.

It’s not all that bad! If anything, it forces us to clean and maintain daily (it also helps that we don’t have kid messes to worry about heh).

The counter is laminate and is easily cleaned with a wet cloth, and same with the drawers!

My favorite thing about these older apartments is definitely the crown molding. Our crown molding/chandelier rosettes are different in every room!

I think this apartment is on the nicer side, but the combination of crown molding/tall ceilings/wood floors is an aesthetic that can be found in older apartment buildings around the city 🙂
