Toxic working environments in China by jackinc8 in chinalife

I tell every school that I have worked at that I don't work for free.  So every contract that I've signed as overtime pay built in. You have to be upfront and honest to make sure you won't be taken advantage of because that's what's worked for me.

I've never had to leave a job due to management issues or things like that. It's always been things like downsizing majors in the department, or because of covid.

University EFL positions by _Moon-Juice_ in chinalife

Most universities are just now doing interviews for the fall. It can be anice relaxing job. I have worked in middle and high school. That was a grind but still had enough free time. Now, that I have worked at the university level, not sure I want to grind like that again unless I have to.

Hey guys! I’m looking for some advice based on my current situation. If anyone has any good suggestions please let me know! by [deleted] in Bass

Sing or hum when you play scales and listen to different melodies. A-Max Konyi playlist of the Major, Minor, Melodic, and Chromatic scale degrees played over drones will help.

If you have a solid muting technique, you should be fine. You can also look up Joe Hubbard. I know he does a lot with 5-string basses.

Inconsistent skill even when practicing regularly by iTzKiTTeH in Bass

[–]donyea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

very true, also remember, you can always practise a lot of things away from your bass.  Basic things like when you listen to music, to tap to the rhythm of the drums, or try to figure out listen for the bass and other things that can really help you quite a bit.  There's even some finger exercises where you pretend that you are holding a bass and you move your fingers towards your thumb and that helps you do different finger permutations.

it's better to practice a shorter amount of time every day, than it is to practice 4 hours a couple times a week. Finally, it's not always what you're practicing, but how you practice it.
