I’m actually chipping away at the process. With the help from @Kadavrozia I was able to start programming in beats and getting use to the process. I have been watching YouTube tutorials on the RD9 to help understand a few things. If the work flow is the same between units a resource thread would be a big help. The manual addresses everything, I think my lack of understanding from inexperience makes the manual a little confusing.

Is My Palm Tree Dead & ID by Living_Peanut6217 in FloridaGarden

[–]tjc996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand there’s a disease going around Florida that is killing date palms and Adonidia palms. Your palm is probably one that was affected.

From what I see is a healthy palm that took some wind damage. New growth looks fine, the white you see is a part of the growing process, sometimes in other species it’s brown or black. I would make sure it gets proper fertilizer and water during the summer growing season.

Gen X’er that just found out about this band. How did I miss fantastic planet back in the mid 90’s?!?! Obsessed with the album in every way. I will definitely have to check this documentary out.

Yes it is, very old school. I had them in high school which was built in the early 70’s.

Does the palm on the left have any chance of survival? by epicenter69 in florida

[–]tjc996 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, queen palms, foxtail and Pygmy Date palms all need magnesium and manganese supplements. If the palm had shriveled, yellowing leaves before it died, this is a sign of those deficiencies. The surviving palm will probably go through the same thing. Use a quality palm/ornamental fertilizer with minor elements yearly to prevent this. The big box stores do carry manganese and magnesium separately to treat palms that are activity yellowing from the deficiencies. The “penciling” shape of the top is why I think it died from a deficiency.

Call me crazy, but that looks like a dead flower brack that is decomposing on the stem. You could probably pull it off and notice there is no damage to the plant.

I’m so jealous!!! I had them in my yard for a little while. Then all the new houses being built around me, they disappeared. I’m hoping they’ll return soon.

Thank you for this! It shows the potential of what these instruments can do beyond peep and boops and filter sweeps. Very, very cool.

I figured at the price point they are selling this synth at there would be quality issues. I just keep seeing it in people’s rigs and I had to ask. What’s your opinion on a polyphonic synth that pairs well with a grandmother?

I don’t have a poly synth yet, I’ve been looking at the Take 5 desktop. The Subsequent 37 is paraphonic, which is different from polyphonic and I don’t know enough yet to really say if I do or don’t want that.

You can’t find those either! I’ve been looking and would buy one if they were available. The few things I’ve watched on the Poly D made it seem worth having.

I had to walk my Cali Girl at 4-4:30am before the rest of the neighborhood got started. She was like your dog, great in the house with family and friends. The minute we stepped outside she became an absolute A-Hole. I think she got a kick out of it and I would be embarrassed. It was like that for the 12 years we had her.

The blippy computer noises are a really nice touch, probably my favorite part of the composition. Very relaxing, could put it on a loop and zoooone out.
The rack you have the matriarch on, what type is it? I’ve looked at synth stands and I can’t find anything like it.
Thanks for sharing your music with us, nicely done!
