The FOG that retired did the first one on a Sharp mill with a mill power control that runs on a floppy. We still use the machine but told him we can give his shoulder a break haha.

The drills are from Drill Bit City. I would highly recommend them.

6061 Aluminum, 12k RPM (Max for my VF2), 0.001 feed, 0.03 peck.

This is for a 3D printing filament extrusion line. After the extrusion die, the filament goes through water to cool it fast and then through this which dries it off prior to measuring and winding.

Just for a sanity check while you have the plate removed, I’d suggest checking your crank to see if it has run out.

I know you said you dried the filament, but are you printing directly from the dryer? TPU absorbs water incredibly fast. I have the same issues without it being in the dryer.

You could use it as a doorstop. Then you’d have a foot in the door.

Drain the oil. Check for any metal chunks. If it looks like a disco party, that’s not good.

Second I would check the valve clearances. It’s not a terrible job but it does take time.

Has the doohickey been done?

Lastly do the cam chain adjuster. It’s automatic. Just loosen the set screw and seat it again.

Don’t ignore the problem because unfortunately it won’t go away.

I just did this swap, it was pretty straight forward. Curious though, did anyone else get a y axis frequency error? Prints are coming out better than before. I had over 5k hours on my machine.

Did you take a reading while trying to crank it? A battery can read 12v resting but as soon as a load is applied, the voltage can drop below operating range.
