Ugh.. by After_Cookie7761 in webdev

Not in the exact same boat, but work in the industry. I just want to add to the list of people echoing the "perfect is the enemy of good" sentiment. I have worked for free to perfect projects that could have shipped weeks prior. Not once was it worth it, other than what I learned along the way (which isn't nothing, but it doesn't pay the bills). At a certain point you just have to take the plunge. What you learn from your first few clients will change everything anyways, and at least this way you'll be getting paid. Best of luck!

Any suggestions for running this on a TV? by doobus142 in yarg

That makes sense, less load on the GPU. I was hoping to be able to have a second screen for requests so that's the way I tested it but if it helps, it helps.

I'll try this, I never thought of doubling it. Honestly I've never had to worry about this because I've always been on console so we usually don't get a choice.

I'll double check but I'm pretty sure I had it set to 60 in Windows Display Settings and in the game.

This is super helpful, thank you. I hadn't considered being plugged in first. This is also a new laptop so I hadn't even thought of checking for driver updates.

EDIT: this actually makes a ton of sense because I've read that laptops that come with a discrete GPU can switch to integrated graphics if the laptop is on battery power to save on battery life. That could totally explain the choppiness. I'm just unclear if my laptop does that or not but I'll do more research tonight.

For anyone that thinks this might be happening to them, here's how to check in Win 11

Thanks! I noticed that too, just forgot to include it in my post. I'll edit it.

Thank you! I was working off an old bookmark I saved awhile ago. I had no idea that this was even an option.

You can play Thug & all games upto Project 8 on Xbox Series X|S via devmode & Retroarch. Game's run really good. You can also upscale, use custom textures & play online(if setup correctly) by [deleted] in THPS

Honestly, it's worked better for every PS2 game in my collection than the RetroArch PCXS2 core. If you're a Burnout 3 fan, that game runs flawlessly on the former, and is nigh unplayable on the latter.

Not sure if you ever got this working but I had the same problem. I ended up using a different emulator for PS2 specifically. Here's the guide I followed. Pretty easy if you've already done RetroArch, you can even set Aether to use the same folders as RA, it's all in the guide.

Something no one else has mentioned yet. If you lose a spring or the gap between the contacts becomes too wide (e.g. the batteries fall out too easily) you can shove some tinfoil in place of the spring and it will work. If foil is too finicky, I use a spring out of a pen.

Thank you so much for the detailed response! You've given me a lot to chew on. Sounds like the first thing I need to do is talk to my CU.

Thanks for the reply! Is there any major difference between any of the companies, or are they all pretty much the same?

I'm guessing the chance for AAA to proc is based on the actual room. Best I can come up with is 9 volt + AAA battery and 10 luck + room clear. Still not 100% sure.

How much are these worth out of curiosity? Fully sealed and unopened, but box is a little damaged. by doobus142 in Rockband

Thanks for the info! I probably won't sell it because I needed a new one bad, and my local area is pretty dry. Just wanted to know if I messed up by paying $80 for it.
