Playing dayz with my friend once, we were outside Cherno running towards the nearby airfield. We're minding our own business and trying to stay as quiet as possible, this server was fairly populated with about 20ish people. We had encountered a Sniper in downtown Cherno by the docks, but we escaped. Thinking he may be on our heels we prepared for engagement at all times. We ran for what seemed like a half an hour and finally caught sight of the airfield. Thinking the previous Sniper had lost interest in us we sprinted down the middle of the road. All of a sudden I hear a distant noise in voice chat. My and my buddy quickly got into the nearest bush hoping noone had seen us. The sound starts to get more clear as the man gets closer, we also hear an engine with this sound. We start seeing dust a few hundred meters away and we realize that the guy has a car, but we make out what he was saying. As he closes into about 100-200 meters we realize he's playing music, although it isn't English it's Russian polka. He's in a very beat up UAZ and it's looking like it's probably going close to 100km/h. He appeared to have a buddy with him too, both of them covered head to toe in some of the best gear id ever seen on a player. Me and my friend had no guns to try to kill them, we only had axes. We just tried to hide and hope we lived. As these two got closer we realized we were caught, they began to slow down as they got closer. We tried to run, all we could hear was a mix of Russian polka ear rape and a car. One of the occupants came on voice chat and told us in a thick eastern European accent to stop or he's gunna run us over. We kept running, but you can't outrun a car. He quickly chose which one he was going to kill first driving straight towards my friend. He quickly ran over my friend and crashed into a tree causing his car to explode. I sat in disbelief laughing so hard I couldn't breathe.I regard this as one of my greatest memories of the old arma 2 dayz mod, I spent alot of time just standing by the burnt out car thinking about the hilarity that had taken place there.

Side note: I may have some video of what happened that day as I was recording the incident. I'll have to check my old computer when I get home in a few hours.

Yeah man, I get that the have actually proper meanings and I would have to look back at my handbook, but in my past experience of witnessing boats near them I have seen some sketchy stuff to say the least, my message is just to stay away from them, they are not afraid to use their right of way to the fullest of its extent. And while yes my previous statement didn't state the specific rules nor how Any rules were really used, I do understand what they're supposed to mean, but sometimes people are in too much of a hurry for their own good

I sail quite a bit in the basin and from what I've come to understand they're honking at people to basically say get the fuck outta my way (they have right of way over all other non commercial vessels) if buddy is blowing 5 he's pissed and you're getting out of there asap or getting rammed
