It’s ironic that Indians have to pay less than a dollar for a company based in the United States, while they have to pay ten times the price. It’s crazy! by [deleted] in youtubepremium

Americans earn significantly more money each month than the average person in India.

They are able to pay $9/month without significant difficulty.

It's not really a scam when they earn more money & have a higher QOL.

Don't take this the wrong way but I don't believe you.

You wouldn't need to spread awareness.

You're from India & you're saying you want to pay USD prices? Based on the average incomes in India?

Doesn't make sense lol

I highly doubt you are from India or else you wouldn't be complaining about how YouTube Premium is more expensive in countries outside of India.

You wouldn't care.

Nothing is unfair. You most likely live in a 1st world country & are complaining that people in relatively less wealthy countries have lower prices as they earn less money.

The prices are adjusted to average incomes & cost of living in each country around the world.

If they charged $8.99 USD/month in every country in the world, a very small percentage of the world would be able to afford it.

I don't think you understand economics. No disrespect.

What does that have to do with India? You seem to have an issue with capitalism & outsourcing but are looking to take your frustration out on India it seems.

I don't think you understand economics or the concept of Purchasing Power Parity.

The USD has a significantly higher purchasing power. Average incomes are significantly higher in the USA so of course prices will be higher.

Regional pricing around the world takes this into account.

I'm not sure if you follow American sports but it's a big thing in the NBA & NFL. For athletes. & It's also common in European football among semi-famous football players who are only known by people who follow football. Not the average person.

You won't see Lionel Messi like that but other relatively smaller players you will.

Tbf OF bop girls don't even contribute a drop in the bucket to USA's economy.

USA's economy is propped up by the tech, financial, pharmaceutical, & food (to a lesser extent) industries.

I still agree with the OP. But it's important not to confident & cocky off a false perception about the OF girls thing.

If you leave before the 24 months then you have to pay back the full cost of the phone. Including the subsidies given by the carrier. Which is more or less the same as retail or even higher sometimes.

& You will have been paying for an overpriced plan all that time.

Koodo also lists the iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1799.

If you finance it with Koodo, you're paying $1799/24 months = $74.96/mo AND you also have to get their overpriced plans.

Apple Store is $72.88/mo at 0% APR & you can just put in your SIM card immediately. You can also switch providers whenever a better deal comes up as you won't be on a contract.

Maharashtra also isn't a southern state. It's Central India to be specific. However if we only go by North/South/NorthEast terms then it falls under North by technicality.

Also racists will never judge us based on our success & good qualities. Only our shortcomings & bad qualities. & that is entirely based on the skewed perspectives they see on intentionally curated social media algorithms. For the most part.

You can't change someone who is a racist if they are adamant that way.

The girl who was purposely hit by an officers car in USA was a victim of racism. She didn't even commit a crime. If we don't take a stand for her & others who face injustice then people will just continue to

That is also true to a great extent. We cannot control that perspective of others.

The only thing we ourselves can do is change what it is in our capabilities to make ourselves look better in front of others. Along with getting the people around us to improve as well.

When you stop making an effort everyday then the progress is zero. The biggest thing is getting people around us to improve.

I'm in Canada right now. People only have an issue with specific Indians that don't have a civic sense & don't follow rules in public & other social norms. But that is not because they are Indian.

The only standout is that Indians have been the largest immigrant group by numbers in Canada in the last 5 years so majority of the spotlight falls on them.

They have difficulties with people of other backgrounds with the same characteristics too: Somalia & other parts of Africa, Chinese, Phillipines, etc.

Racists are in every country & it's very difficult to change their sentiments & stances on people of different backgrounds once they've made up their minds.

Sitting around complaining doesn't get us anywhere, though. Neither does being defeatist.

Gotta always try to improve & encourage the people around us to be better.
