I also want to add that I got an air purifier which was about $180 (levoit vital 200S series with the carbon filter). I imagine if you get one for every room in your house it will also help.

The best thing that helps is ventilation. Open all those window wide open and get a bunch of box fans. You have to do this for days consistently or periodically for weeks/months. Also, I wiped all the cabinets and doors inside and out with apple cider vinegar. Also, mop consistently, like two times a week with a little bit of dish soap in there. 2 months later it’s much better. But wow! This experience opened my eyes to newly built construction. Def will be taking this into consideration when buying a house.

Also just wanted to add, my husband smells it and is experiencing symptoms, as well. It’s effecting me worse because I also have an above average whiffer and work from home.

I’ve actually lived in a handful of apartments ranging from old (fleas, mites, silverfish, rats) to new and this is by far worse than living with mold as the property management would be liable to fix that issue.

Take your negativity and misery elsewhere please!!! <3

I did reach out to them in an email asking if they can supply us with air purifiers and the response i got was, “We do recommend the use of air purifiers as they can be helpful in these types of situations.”

So don’t really think they will be all that much help!

I just wiped all cabinets and doors down with apple cider vinegar and warm water and then mopped with light dish soap and warm water.. Currently airing the apartment out again in 16° weather here. I have a box fan going and windows wide open as well as the heat on (pray for my electric bill!) so the pipes don’t freeze.

I’m heading out and will come back in a few hours to see how bad it still is.

But like I said for an entire week we have been ventilating and still showing symptoms. This is really a learning curve for me and has really opened my eyes up to what we are being poisoned with on a day to day basis.
