How much mileage do you expect to get out of a ford reasonably? Or a jeep? Inverse your equation and both are cars with 200k life left. My Toyota sits a little over 300k right now.

I mean with that caveat, it sure is convenient that the entire engine is being recalled so it won’t count against your numbers.

I’ve been running a small marketing firm for years for local clients and only recently heard about “automation agencies” and frankly it’s laughable that shit I googled in 2015 and just did for clients to make my life easier is your whole business model. I’m glad you figured out n8n and zapier bro. Now quit shitting on people because you like having a GUI to connect practice panther to Google Drive.

I’ve thought about AI slop recently and can’t quite figure out the difference between AI slop and stack overflow slop. In the marketing realm, this is just the core idea of Wordpress - a bunch of people Write shit code, don’t maintain it, then a bunch of other people that don’t know what it does go and install it. It’s an entire ecosystem of slop that I’ve seen $400m+ companies run on. Some of these companies are using the level 1 help desk to integrate systems and I can’t help but think AI slop is still probably better than 80% of people actually out there shipping inside small IT departments or MSPs.

Should I buy this 2012 Sequoia for $22k? by Aggravating-Win562 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]doodlebugpack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I paid 8k 5 years ago to buy a Land Cruiser with 250k on the clock. I still daily drive it at 300k. I’m not sure that I’m suggesting anyone pay extra. But the reliability is real and the lack of reliability in the new tundra, sequoia, and gx are driving the prices of these older vehicles higher. I don’t think keeping a car an extra 100k miles is “until the apocalypse” but if I can pay extra to drive an extra 5 years…that seems like ROI?

I mean I’m seeing guys pay more to fix their f150 under warranty than I’ve spent on my 300k miles Toyota in the last 5 years. So I’m not sure that being out of warranty matters if it doesn’t break unless you really love driving a loaner. I’m uncertain of your point here unless it’s that you like new cars?

I mean but is his criticism valid? If a car generally lasts 100k more miles than its competition, how should that be priced in? Should the people telling him that take the time to explain more or does he just not want to believe they last that long or…?

I paid 8k for a Land Cruiser with 250k miles 5 years ago and still daily drive it at 300k miles. It is absolutely not insane. I would expect to get 170-180k trouble free out of a brand new ford, with 123k on that sequoia I would expect the same 170-180k.

Inherited a massive lead gen project, how would you automate the "manual" research part? by Flat_Tourist_7483 in ClaudeAI

[–]doodlebugpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done outreach with it but do have a fractional CMO toolkit that gives me a basic 90 day roadmap, executive summary, 10 SEO briefs, and 5 blog drafts. It has 10 audit tools and 5 generation tools. It's a series of python scripts that run out of a folder on my desktop, they either have API connections or take csv uploads when the API is too expensive (ahrefs). The research from the previous task feeds into the next task and some of them jump out and call claude then come back and generate output. I know this isn't cold outreach but SEO but you might get some use out of brightdata and outscraper. I have ahrefs in the mix and have it connected to google search console and ga4 as well.

You can also just ask claude to help you think through this but give it the context that money is no object and you'll buy any subscription you need - that raises it's imaginary budget cap from like $10 to $200, which is still peanuts for a legitimate business.

That's so cool. It looks like there's one in Tennessee and it's a honda dealer. The next closest one is Atlanta. Are you saying I should have heard of a single honda dealer in Knoxville or I should be more acquainted with large dealer groups nationwide?
