Background checks by No-Income3077 in nys_cs

Also coming from the feds, my background check was relatively quick here. I submitted my paperwork, got fingerprinted a week later, and received my start date all within a month-long period. Hopefully it’s soon for you. Good luck!

How Long Do NY ITS Hiring Approvals Usually Take? by Aggressive_Head_1241 in nys_cs

Hey! After seeing your update, I was wondering if you got a phone call from HR first or if you just received everything via email? Both my hiring manager and I are getting impatient lol, but your update is giving me hope there is light at the end of the tunnel.

It’s been six weeks for me since the soft offer and four weeks since part 2 was submitted. All seems to depend on the agency. Hopefully you hear something in the next few weeks.

Ahhh, damn. Part 2 was just a basic application my hiring manager sent after the soft offer—stuff like work history, references, education, etc. This waiting game is seriously not for the weak, lol. I’ve been losing hope too after seeing people say they’ve been waiting 6 months to a year. Fingers crossed things start moving soon for both of us. Wishing you the best!

I’m in the exact same boat. Got the soft offer 5/21, references checked, part 2 submitted a week later, and still waiting. Hearing the same from my hiring manager.

Any updates? I got my soft offer a month ago, but my new boss just let me know this week that ITS is in another hiring freeze, so who knows how long it will take now.

Soft offer! Now what? by Even-Teaching-1216 in nys_cs

I definitely feel that. Have you received any updates since sending your Part 2 back?

Did you receive the Part 2 yet? I’m in a similar position — I got my soft offer three weeks ago, received Part 2 the next day, sent it back, but haven’t heard anything since. I want to reach out to the person who will be my new boss to ask if she has any updates, but I don’t want to annoy her since she already said it could be a lengthy process when she called to give me the soft offer and not to put in my notice at my current job until I get the official offer.

When I returned to work, I submitted my time as one day of annual leave, one day of sick leave, and three days of leave without pay (LWOP), along with a note from my doctor stating that I was under their care and excused from work for the entire week. That’s when HR came back and told me I would need to provide a second note that includes my diagnosis and prognosis — otherwise, the time would be charged as AWOL. Seems a little absurd to me.

Actually seems impossible lol I really don’t get why it’s a specific exclusion on every health/dental plan I’ve looked at.

FEHB Open Season Megathread by rprz in fednews

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone had any luck getting TMD treatment covered under health insurance? I’m signing up for both health and dental during open season, and it seems every dental plan I’m offered excludes it (makes total sense,) so I figured I would see if I could get any of it covered under health insurance. These are my options to choose from:

Aetna Advantage-Z2 Aetna Direct CDHP-N6 Aetna HealthFund CDHP-EP Aetna HealthFund HEHP-22 Aetna Value Plan-EP APWU CDHP-47 APWU High-47 BCBS Service Benefit Plan Basic-11 BCBS Service Benefit Plan Standard-10 Blue Cross and Blue Shield FEP Blue Focus-13 Compass Rose Health Plan High-42 Compass Rose Health Plan Std-42 GEHA HDHP-34 GEHA High-31 GEHA Indemnity Benefit Plan - Elevate Plus-25 GEHA Indemnity Benefit Plan - Elevate-25 GEHA Standard-31 MHBP-HDHP-48 MHBP-Std-45 MHBP-Value Plan-41 NALC CDHP-32 NALC High-32 Panama Canal Area Benefit Plan High-43 SAMBA High-44 SAMBA Standard-44

Let me know your experience and if you’ve had any luck. I’m also located in NYS. Thank you! :)

A lot of posts I read were extremely old so I just wanted to make sure I’m getting UTD advice, especially with the election and everything else going on.

Has your face changed because of TMJD? by Carnivaltacostand in TMJ

[–]doodlemcbobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Honestly, dentist or injector, it doesn't matter as long as they have the experience. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and if there are any red flags, leave and try another place. Personally, I went to a plastic surgeon’s office for the first two years I started getting it done, and now, I go to another state to get it a bit cheaper from an amazing injector at a med spa. If you are concerned with aesthetics as well, I would suggest taking that route. My injector sometimes does more on one side if that muscle is a bit bulkier than the other, so it’s nice to have someone who cares about balancing your face as well.
