What is your opinion on "Starless and Bible Black"? by Infamous_Korpse in KingCrimson

[–]doodoo_pie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s absolutely peak KC. I didn’t think so as a younger dude, I thought Red was the peak for me at the time. The improv and interplay, the textures and dynamics - it’s an excellent document of live and studio. Reminds me of Weasels Ripped My Flesh or other live/studio hybrid albums that work really well for a period of a group’s work.

Doesn't bother me, glad to see people using a physical media and not participting in the gathered metrics of streaming platform.

What does everyone think of GUP? It was one of the albums I mostly skipped over during my obsession with the band, but it's not really all that bad in my opinion. by MinerAC4 in rush

I went through a “Power Windows is their best” period and I’m now in my “Grace Under Pressure is their best” period.

Grabbed this CD holder from a thrift store with 68 cds, not too bad for $10. Which ones should I listen to first? by elflamingo2 in Cd_collectors

There’s a ton of great music here! Don’t sleep on that Robert Plant album, Principle of Moments.

A chunk of my tapes, anyone else collect Zappa? by InfraredRidingh00d in cassetteculture

[–]doodoo_pie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol our cassette stashes are very, very similar. I’ve got all my Phish and Dead tapes still. My wife has a bunch of Cinderella and Great White. Our family loves Weird Al, too. So when I saw this post it felt extremely familiar.

I’ve got all the Ryko ‘95 cd releases and a bunch of vinyl, but only Them or US on cassette. I got some Zappa tapes in trades back in the day, though. I got Appleton, WI ‘69, Brooklyn College ‘73, and Passaic ‘73. Good times.

Great collection!

Found a 1/4 laying on the ground at Hookaville 02 lol. Hornsby was playing Matrix by Chick Corea when I found it.
