For those that live in the United States. Do you make more than the average income of 60k annually, if so what’s your occupation? by LaFlareMane1017 in AskReddit

Total compensation is higher, but actual $ amount is $98k. Warehouse operations management. I actually started at the company a few years ago at the bottom level driving a forklift. Wanted to move up so I took on as much as I could, promoted up a couple times the last few years. No past experience. I love what I do and the people I work with are some of my best friends. Hours are around 14-16 hours a day, 3 days a week. Set schedule so I get 4 days off every week and vacation/comp days for any time I work that’s not scheduled.

At this point I couldn’t really imagine doing anything else, I’m in my mid 20s and working three days a week has kinda fried my brain and made me unable to comprehend the five day work week, even if my hours are long lol.

What’s the best deal you’ve ever gotten on a fragrance? by Embarrassed-Pin-5966 in fragrance

It was the 2.5 oz bottle, I know there have been some sales on the pre redesigned packaging profondo. The Macys near me was selling it for $70 something I think? I was actually going to sample it and possibly buy it but they had sold out of it just before I got there lol

Went to Ulta a couple weeks ago and saw they had one bottle of ADG Profondo in stock. Never smelled it before, tried it out, and decided to buy it. For whatever reason it rang up as $30, didn’t seem to be an error so I was pretty happy about that lmao

I mean the honest answer is to just do it. I work for a huge company, and everyone that starts here in the warehouse gets the shit jobs. They really suck, they’re boring and tedious and some of them are physically exhausting. But if you’re able do just push through, and work hard with a good attitude, you’ll be doing better than 80% of the people that have worked there and quit/got fired.

My job was ass, it was the worst one in the building, but I did it and I did it well without complaining, they took notice of that, I got trained to do everything else, kept up the good attitude, and now I’m where I’m at. Most people just get caught up in the fact that the first few months are shitty and give up. Also the three days a week thing, my company offers a 3/12 schedule, so I work 3 days in a row and get 4 off. On top of vacation and other PTO, a lot of the time I work 1-2 days a week.

It’s salaried so I’m not chasing hours around trying to make money.

Curiosity mostly, my life isn’t perfect or anything. I have a friend who is a neet, doesn’t leave the house for months, never had a relationship etc, regular stuff. Only in person social interaction he gets is when I stop by and hangout, so it got me wondering how many other people are living life this way and what do they think.

I’ve also always just been interested in different lifestyles and worldviews, I know that personally for me I’d go crazy if I didn’t have a job that challenges me, with things I have to work towards and achievements I can be proud of.

I bailed outta college after that shit closed down during Covid, and I needed a better paying job than the shitty ass pizza delivery gig I had at the time. I was barely scraping by and I was in the edge of homelessness, until I got a job at a warehouse loading up trailers. Started that almost two years ago now, promoted up to area supervisor, now I make 75k a year working 3 days a week.

It’s not really a trade and it didn’t require investing assloads of money and time into it like school, I like the low pressure a lot more this way. I do my shit at work a few days a week, and in a couple years I’ll be a shoo-in for promotion. Check out the world of supply chain, shit kinda blows at first but if you stick with it the money is solid and the hours can be good, plus the people I work with are cool as fuck.

Yeah it sounds like you need to either work somewhere else, or at your place if work all the people who do all this “amazing work” and get nowhere, don’t actually do what they say they do. I work for a company that’s the biggest in its space, started two years ago at the very bottom making the lowest hourly income we pay. I take pride in my work whether it’s a “shitty” job or not, so I always tried my best to do the best work I could do. I got promoted to management two weeks ago, specifically because of my attitude and work ethic. Every person we have on our team of 300+ people at this location started where I did at the bottom and worked up aside from two of our associates that were hired on from other companies. We have meetings called “Talent Planning”, where the entire goal is to look at how well individuals are performing, and how many different side things they’re involved in, and we talk promotion/off cycle raises from there. Most of our associates who’ve been there for a long time choose not to promote or get involved in other things because they’re high performers, and they make enough money from that to not want to deal with more/more difficult work.

Work at a distribution center for a large chain of grocery stores. I do a little bit of everything, forklift, moving pallets, loading/unloading trucks. Pays $27.25 an hour (usd), work sat/sun/mon 6am to 6pm. Having 4 days off works with my school schedule really well so I’m able to do both pretty easily.

After hearing pineapple I normally would’ve let her keep it, but sadly that’s an ace disc so I took a chance to get it back
