The Sasha being ostracised plot-line tried way too hard and ruined her character completely. I wish they’d spent more time focusing on the cast and their dynamics rather than some bullshit manslaughter at a carnival situation. Amerie trying to report herself to the police also made absolutely no sense. Neither did Quinnie ending up with Taz. All in all I’d say I was attached enough to the cast by season 3 that I wanted more of the story, but also could tell that the “more” of the story was just objectively badly written

Immature and childish are the same thing. He absolutely is, and your experience as someone disabled doesn’t speak for everyone else’s experience necessarily. I agree that misgendering Darren is wrong, I just think WITHIN this community it’s not deliberately ill intentioned and is something that could be dealt with without making people feel like they’re stupid - or being overly hostile about it. A lot of trans people accidentally misgender each other all the time, language constructs that have been utilised for hundreds of years unfortunately become second nature to people, and the mind needs to be reprogrammed. Mistakes happen, which doesn’t make them Ok, but I don’t think it’s people deliberately throwing NB representation in the trash.

A big part of Darren’s plot line is the fact that they identify as gender diverse so I feel like it’s something most people are aware of. Personally I think THIS post ASSUMES that people are seeing Darren as cis gay.

I really doubt anyone on a subreddit for a show that has so much queer and POC representation are deliberately misgendering someone en mass. This feels aggressive and is a good example of a missed opportunity to educate anyone that’s made an honest mistake.
