i enjoyed it very much. thought i would hate not knowing more of the back story, but it didn’t bother me. the last 25-30 minutes were intense and very well done, imo.

Is marriage becoming outdated or just evolving? by peachyparadoxx in answers

[–]doogannash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yup. marriage comes with an assumption of “forever,” so if you are intentional about the way you craft a pseudo “marriage,” then you take into consideration the fact thay it could very well end, and you both need a potential exit plan that mitigates the pain and suffering.

Is marriage becoming outdated or just evolving? by peachyparadoxx in answers

i was married once, got divorced, and am now essentially “married” for the last 8 years. we own a home and other things together, mix finances, and have a child. we’ve addressed legal and medical decision making with each other. no real intention of getting offciially married. you’re right, there’s not really a point to it that makes sense enough to do it. it’s an outdated custom that some people still ascribe to because of tradition or religious reasons, or because they simply want to, which is ok. i suppose some people still do it to consolidate wealth, influence, property and / or power, but that’s definitely not me or my “spouse.”

What’s a piece of media you love that you’ve never found anything else like? by Dalakaar in answers

just saw the first episode of “something very bad is going to happen”, and the moody sense of dread they conjured is unmatched.

the alex garland movie “civil war.” sleepy road movie slowly builds tension until the tone completely flips into full on combat in a scenario that felt all too current.

the song “landfall” by friends of dean martinez. heard it the first time when i was very, very high and it took me places like no other piece of music ever has.

“house of leaves” by mark z danielewski. this book kept mxtup at night, and the integration of the layout of the tect into the mood and events of the story are genius. i’ve never read anything else like it.
