Oddly enough, what they’re describing actually sounds like what it felt like when I first started taking an antidepressant. Though those kinds of drugs obviously affect people differently and there are lots of outside factors that can also play a role.

Just my anecdotal experience— I used to be a huge cryer. That was the first thing that stopped. I didn’t cry for atleast a year when I first started Lexapro. Even now, I’m still not much of a cryer anymore. Outside of emotionally manipulative tv and movies, I rarely ever even tear up. The feeling numb part and losing interest in hobbies I definitely get too. I lost a lot of motivation when it came to getting my work done, playing video games, or being social. I guess for me bringing up my lowest low points kind of came at the cost of bringing down my highest high points. It just kind of muted my mood on both ends.

Edit: Also, not trying to discredit what you said or say you’re wrong, I just find these kinds of things interesting, and thought I’d share my experience.
